Supporter sanctions?

I believe no stadium allows random smoke from all ppl at all times. Though I am not positive.

I don't know for a fact, but I'm 99% sure its controlled smoke only. To me, it doesn't even count.

I believe you gentlemen are correct. I'm pretty sure when I went on a hissy fit last year and looked it up (F.U. Grant Wahl) every MLS venue listed a ban on smoke in their respective Codes of Conduct. Everything that's set off legally is done by the team/stadium.

It's better than the glitter/confetti IMHO. the Orlando field is ridiculously purple & gold when they score. I'm amazed no one has slipped and injured themselves on it.

I've never really gotten my head around the pyro fascination. I mean, yeah, it looks cool and all, but not worth getting overly bothered about it.
There's some of the chewing gum in class allure to it. Which, like chewing gum in class, is pretty juvenile.

I'm pretty sure smoke and flares are not allowed anywhere,
not just MLS and US stadiums but any stadium in the world.
Unless somehow supervised by the club

The SB Nation blog that covers Philly spoke to their GM about it.

tBG) Who escalated it?

MS) We believe the first projectiles were thrown from Section 133 – visiting supporters.

tBG) How did security de-escalate the situation?

MS) Security was already stationed in this area and immediately responded – additional security also responded from other areas. There was no physical altercation.

Their "immediate response" was to watch, even the Union GM couldn't say they de-escalated the situation because he knows that would be a lie. So what their non response means is, as long as there isn't a physical altercation you can go nuts. Lovely precedent set by their stadium GM.

i seriously doubt that....unless you think all those random flares in south america and eastern europe to be "approved" and supervised by the club

Who the hell knows. MLS is so stupid with these things, I wouldn't be surprised if they offered NYCFC fans free transportation just because of the attention it drew.

No I don't think that.
Those are clearly not allowed by the club.
