So it seems (according to FB) that there was some drama at yesterday's home game. This is the 2nd home game. As I understand it there are people on this forum from basically all the various supporter groups. I sit close to these sections but far enough that I can't make out every thing said. Apparently some racism, homophobic and/or anti-supporter group chants/words/actions were being thrown around. I've also heard something about an entire family dealing with some other bullshit. My advice is if you see this going on. Anywhere in the stadium. Record it. If your afraid to submit it, send it to me. I'll be more than happy to send it to who ever I have to. This is NYC. There is no place whatsoever for any type of racism to be taking place. Different supporter groups form for various reasons. Come game day. You are all one. Everyone in the stadium no matter what section you are in. We are one! Let's end this before it turns into something someone will regret. If your in a group and would like to share your experience, I do believe certain people follow the forums too and word will get passed down. We are there to support our club and act as one. Lets not forget that.

its one thing to call the ref an asshole, its another to have SG on SG stuff.

i was in 234 but i couldnt hear anything they were doing. i saw someone with a banner, but thats it (couldnt even make it out)

im all for "Asshole" chants to refs or "____ Sucks" but come on, its new york, expect some people to be assholes.

*I AM NOT CONDONING HOMOPHOBIA OR RASCISM

If you or anyone has any more details, either first or second hand, please update this thread. I'm interested to know what is happening and how widespread it was, and trust me so will the front-office. We need to stop things like this before management (both stadium and club) is forced to take action. I've seen it happen in New England and heard about it from other clubs, once something negative happens at high rate and they receive complaints, the are forced to respond by putting in more restrictions on the supporter's, which totally kills the culture.
Going forward, if you see or hear anything at a match, don't sit back and ignore it. Identify the people to security and report the incident to the FO later. While nobody want's to be a rat, it is necessary to stop things from ruining our experience in the future.

I hope all of the allegations are untrue because there is some seriously messed up things being reported. I had a great time in 236 for the opener and 238 last night.

But after reading all of the pointless drama, the racism/homophobia and general disorganiAtion, I'm kind of regretting getting tickets in the supporter section. It's becoming too much about the supporters and not enough about the actual game. I kind of just want to drink beer and watch soccer...

What happened exactly? I've been in contact with the team about the racist and homophobic crap that happened at the first game, so I'd like to let them know about this.

As I said. I'm only going off what I read. Others that directly heard it, I'd like them to post here. Or if you know exactly what went on. I know there are members of all SG's on here.

I don't know if the racist stuff at HoO stuff is related, I'm just posting what I saw on FB. Both actions are unacceptable in my opinion, if true.

It should be a life ban from the stadium for anyone involved in chants like that (if not worse). Wtf is this world coming to?

There were several fans at the beginning of the game who stood in the front row of sec 238. Contrary to the rumors being floated in several different forums, those fans did not leave on their own accord. They were defiant when asked to move to their assigned section, to the point that an usher took notice and asked to see their tickets. Upon realizing that they were in the wrong section, they were told to move, at which point they did. It doesn't matter how early someone arrives. If you are occupying a space that you haven't paid for, you have no grounds to complain when you're asked to move. This had absolutely nothing to do with one supporter group over another. This had everything to do with taking seats that were not rightfully theirs to take. To boot, the first person to engage them was a woman who was essentially told to perform an impossible sexual act upon herself. Keeping in the same fashion from the game, they've now circulated rumors about how wronged they were by the people who were merely asking them to go to their assigned section. And to tell a girl to go f*** herself?!!! I believe a great deal of restraint was shown not to escalate it any further. Who speaks to women like that? Hmmmm, yeah, prob the same people with the ant-gay chants.

And separately, hopefully it's not true, but any chants directed by supporter groups against other supporter groups rooting for the same team is moronic, childish and counterproductive.

The racist chant was heard from members of the third rail. I honestly don't give two shits about any of it. But let it be clear that hoo has nothing to do with this. This person put up an earlier post and was a bit more clear on it.

It's been reported to FO. Most involved are STH's. To my knowledge.

Not a single allegation against HoO is accurate.

If someone wants to talk directly to me, I'd be happy to oblige. I was right in the middle of it.

First, let's be clear. We had approx 30 season ticket holders in 238. It's alot of negative buzz, being fueled by members of an SG w/ almost 2,000 members. Do they really want to monopolize support that badly? We should barely be on TR's radar, if we're being honest.

Regarding the rumors?

It's all bullshit. All of it.

Maybe mention the random non-English speaking family of 3 that we welcomed with open arms, who loved us. Who ended up holding our banner with us.

Or the two random guys a few rows back who we sang "Happy Birthday" to.

Or the grounds crew that smiled and danced to our songs.

Or the chant at the beginning of the match, that WAS directed at The Third Rail: "Hey Third Rail give us a wave, hey Third Rail give us a wave!"

I could go on and on and on.

If you want, we could discuss something else that happened.... the TR members with 237 tickets, that came into 238. Started some shit. One of our members went to get a female member a beer, and walking back, the TR member swatted our guy's forearm, spilling his beer....after they had been running their mouths. Blowing kisses at our members, including the girls. A couple of our guys escorted them away from 238, and security helped US (Hearts of Oak) bc our guys were doing the right thing. But we didn't blast social media with that story, because or guys have a "shit happens in the bleachers" attitude.

Let's discuss the pre-match party at Yankee Bar & Grill, hosted by HoO. The party that had members of HoO, BBSC, TR attending. All of which got along really well. Everyone was happy, singing, buying each other drinks. I'd challenge ANYONE to show up at YB&G and have anything less than an awesome fucking time.

It's absolute insanity. All of it. Certain supporters of this club need to get over themselves, and quickly.

I've also been talking to some members of the media, that said both racist AND homophobic chants were again coming from season ticket holders in 237. In addition, the Nazi chants (or whatever the hell that's about) has been confirmed to have ZERO connection to ANYONE in Hearts of Oak.

Fuck. The. Bullshit.

Thanks for coming to give your side of the story johnny_f johnny_f
This situation needs to be adressed, especially if you know that these clowns are season ticket holders. Get a hold of someone in the FO and have them aware of the issue. During the next match, point out any of this nonsense to security so they can hopefully kick these people out and hopefully ban them afterwards.
