The Outfield

Been meaning to start a thread to give people another way to keep up with The Outfield's stuff. Looking forward to talking about the posts here.

I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone at the Outfield for a great companion to the NYCFC experience. The work the Outfield produces is thoughtful and insightful. Classy stuff.
This is my first full year as an NYCFC fan.
The season, as most of us probably experienced, was incredibly frustrating. Early in the Summer I read the Barcelona experiment and it gave me a new way to look at how the team was playing and understand what Dome was trying to accomplish. One of the things I thought was that it must be frustrating for Dome to try and implement what he really wants to do with the players on the roster. I think he’s managed to find some middle ground which has led to the team sitting a (bonehead referee job in Harrison NJ) point back from first in the Eastern Conference.
Anyway... Love the Outfield.
May you .

Seconded here. The Outfield has been a pure joy to read, with the only reservation being the infrequency of its product.*

The latest article is a very good example. Thoughtful, well and amusingly written - it combines insight and humor. Not to be missed.

* - Something that is completely understandable - presumably, the staff all have different day jobs.

Love the articles too. Since it's infrequent, posting here is a great way to remind us there's something new to read.

Give us your toughest questions. Or your easiest ones, I've got dibs on those.

Yangel Herrera was considered by many to be NYCFC's most important player (with David Villa being the most valuable) last year. How has NYCFC overcome his absence in terms of changing shape, players, or tactics?

How does your ideal NYCFC starting 11 compare to the MLS starting 11 average for playoff teams on a position for position basis in terms of net benefit to being on the field?

Anton Tinnerholm is second in the team in assists. Is that because he's a better player than our LBs and/or because we play more through the right side of the field?

What fruit or vegetable most looks like NYCFC's best shape in terms of formation?

Who is most deserving: Dome for Coach of the Year, Maxime Chanot for Defender of the Year, or Heber for Newcomer of the Year? (i.e. What should we be most outraged by if they don't win their respective award?)

We've gone to penalty kicks during the playoffs, and everyone from the team is healthy, what is your order of takers 1-11?

Why are we so much better with Parks in the lineup than Ofori even though they have both scored just as many goals this year?

If you could have 1 NYCFC player show up to your bar mitzvah. Who would you choose and why?
Easy. It doesn't matter the event or circumstances. The NYCFC player most likely to improve the atmosphere in any room is Heber.

My question:
Would you rather fight 1 Sean Johnson or 5 Maxi Moralezes?
