Toronto Postmatch - Goodbye 2016

I didn't even notice them. They would be better outside the bullpen so people could see the entire stack.

I like that idea.

I just went back to my photos from that day, they were gone by 2:20, so long before the gates opened. I guess they wanted to save them until the playoffs. It's a very cool touch. Credit to R roxfontaine and the rest of the third rail.

But let's be real, if they were going to really try and be realistic, the stacks would be in the middle of your way and constantly blowing steam on you on a hot summer day.

Jokes aside, I noticed they had the NYC flag colors on the nets. Was that the TR's doing too or just the club?

And you should make this information more public so people know what the Third Rail is doing for the stadium atmosphere.

I can only maneuver in the space I'm given. I got explicit instruction to not talk about it because it was already a delicate situation between the club and YS and there was no guarantee we could get it done. Had it been announced and then cancelled, it would have been bad.

I have to honor commitments to a whole bunch of people.

I'm saying announce it now...

Get a press release circulating.

Pregame and goals?

Yes.

This is being worked on. They were behind the wall this time because nobody was sure what would happen and they wanted the SS to be able to see them most. They could be in front in the future.

Someone asked about the nets. That was the club's idea. I was down on the pitch before the game and noticed them and, of course, I flipped out. They really are trying to make the place ours.

I think it's extremely evident how hard the club is working on the game-day experience. It's impressive. Another reason the best is yet to come.

I totally agree with you that Pirlo needs Iraola next to him in order to have the time and space to effectively play that QB role for the offense and he didn't have that against TFC. I disagree though with regard to the corners last night -- I thought he did pretty well with his deliveries into the box. Pirlo also played a beautiful through ball to Lampard late in the first half that Lampard buries 9 times out of 10. AHABS in this thread, the biggest problem last night was that the midfield was overrun and Iraola was playing between the CBs a lot causing Pirlo to be isolated.
Thought it was pretty funny that Villa bullied Pirlo off the free kick opportunity in the 2nd half.

Would love to know what was said in that conversation...
OH HELL YEAH !!

Angela, Pirlo works very well for NYCFC but only if the formula is right. PV likes to tinker with the formula (unfortunately for the team and the fans).

I'm amused by TomInFairfield. Our goalkeeper (not named Josh Saunders) gives up 5 goals at home and not even a peep about it but he hammers Pirlo. I seriously LOL'd.
I don't think Andrea will come back Contract or not !! He Needs to search himself and ask the much needed questions he already knows the answers to !! Point is and Bottom Line !! He's fkd up his legacy with this failed experiment !! I Would Be Very Shocked to see him back or know he's welcome!!

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one Angela Miller Angela Miller! I think this was totally worth Andreas time if he enjoyed his experience. Legacys are not all that important if you think about it. Life is about taking risks and seeing what happens and enjoying yourself. If Pirlo is done which I'm not sure he is, I bet he thoroughly enjoyed playing in the city with the likes of Villa and Lampard. If your just trying to maintain an imagine where's the fun if you don't switch it up every once and a while. And if legacy is actually really important to you, then you need not look further than Babe Ruth. At the end of his career he ended up being a player/manager for the Braves. Like 95% of people probably don't know that, and I bet 99% of people don't actually care that he played there. Point being his legacy wasn't "destroyed" and neither will Il Meastro's legacy.

Sorry for derailing

You have to think...

- With the Cavs coming back from 3-1 down
- With the Cubs coming back from 3-1 down
- With the Patriots coming back from 25 points down

We couldn't overcome a 5-0 aggregate deficient at halftime. But it wasn't the championship game. Just thoughts...
