4 best players.
Pulisic, Adams, Sargent, McKennie
You are correct.Pulisic and McKennie are too old, sadly - both turn 21 later this year.
I guess I might say we are missing our 3 best players - Adams, Sargent and Sands.
I thought it was clearly off. But then they later showed a still shot of the player being behind the play at the point of contact. The perspective looked different than the broadcasted one so I accepted it, but haven’t looked further into whether that was the correct interpretation. The ‘ol offside goal strikes again..... that was some bad VAR
I think VAR had to be rewound a bit more, the guy was way offsides and alone before his teammate received the ball. That should have been the point the whistle blew, when the teammate gained possession, not when the shot was taken, because the eventual scorer’s positioning had the advantage on the defenders then needing to mark up.I thought it was clearly off. ETA- by behind the play I mean behind the passer.
Maybe to our fan base not sure that many people outside of NYCFC fans realize how good sands is .Twellman on twitter.
Look - this is kind of the big issue as a post mortem on the country’s performance in the tournament. Durkin and Keita were the weak links on a strong team. One or both were responsible for giving up goals in multiple WC games, and it is probable that we go farther if we had better players in those spots. And lo and behold! there is a guy better than either one sitting at home in Rye, NY.Maybe to our fan base not sure that many people outside of NYCFC fans realize how good sands is .
You are correct.
This is what I get for a lazy google search without actually getting into the source document. Google search results page noted "Upper age limit: all players must be a maximum of 20 years old by the end" and I took that as the end of the tournament. The cut out portion though is: "of the calendar year in which the competition is played (i.e. all players of the teams were born on or after 1 January 1999)"
