Wow, my team as a child, Zagreb, against my team now, City. This is tough.

Will be interesting to see how Jesse Marsch and RB Salzburg do in Group E. Salzburg are 5-0 to start the season in Austria, with a +19 goal differential.

American, former MLS manager in CL. Off the top of my head, having trouble figuring out if that happened before.

WOO HOO!!

Champions league today.

Personally, I'll be watching the Barca game. but I am so excited for this year's champions league to start.

The newspaper quotes I have seen say things like - he is the first American-raised man to coach in the Group Stage of Champions League.
I don't know if there was ever someone who was an American raised overseas who coached in Champions League (like David Wagner, who has not).

Bob Bradley got Stabæk into the Europa League, but he left before they played in it.

Losers of the night Inter (even though they drew it' s a horrible result)

Liverpool , Which I'm glad to see their not unbeatable

Pullisic , 2 straight games as an unused sub, not good!

Yeah not good for inter who tied after the 90. Dort/Barca with the tie too, so Inter missed a golden opportunity. They probably don't advance because of it.

LFC/Napoli was a great first half. Napoli started to tire and play for the point around the 70 mark. They've played each other well last few times. They should both advance anyway.

Everything else went normal.

Tomorrow should fall the same, but I think both #2 Madrids win.

One of the big winners (not just talking scoreline) tonight were Ajax for me. I still doubt they'll make the last 4 again but I think they should favored to make the knock out stages again and then who knows? A lot of the pundits didn't have them making it out of the group but I'm really not that impressed with Chelsea or Valencia.

You sure about that given the way Salzburg is playing? I could see them pipping one of those two teams in the end.

Anyway, I am just in it for the next round when Salzburg plays at Liverpool. Hopefully, Midas Mulligan comes back and regales us with thoughts about Jesse Marsch once again facing off against one of his favorite teams.

Watched spurs - olympiakos . Spurs still not firing on all cylinders blew another 2-0 lead . I didn’t realize Valbuena was playing in Greece . He was one of Marseille’s top men when I was in France several years back . The little man looks like he’s still got it feel like he could still play in a bigger league .

Tottenham are really tanking their season. Overachieved last year crashed back down to earth HARD.

City had more trouble with Zagreb than I expected took Sterling and Foden off the bench to get the goals. Hope Foden slowly starts getting more playing time. England probably need him more than City though.

I don't think Pochettino can save them either and that will dull some of his shine.
