USA vs. France, Friday 6/28, 3pm, FOX (Quarterfinals)

For the past 15 years…
Oh I don’t know about that.... far more recent (ok, two cups ago) when the men made that run and were playing Belgium, I can’t remember a time when the country wasn’t more pro-soccer. Everybody was taking off work to watch.

No marking on that header....

Renard is fun to watch.

Common, USA, HODL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our defense was really good, and I had concerns about Dunn but we got though it. Probably would have been a different story if Cascarino had started and been running at Dunn for the whole match.

I was disappointed in how effectively France was able to employ their midfield to keep us from creating very much.

Tobinho gets free for one second to receive a pass and creates our second goal. But France (and Spain) kept her more locked up for the whole match than is ideal.

Morgan is not fit and needs to rest. Maybe start Press against England.

Probably could have brought Press on for Rapinoe much earlier in the second half. Ellis seems to under-rate fresh legs.

Go on, USWNT!

Also, speaking of VAR madness, they're suddenly not calling handball on the type of "handball" which has resulted in multiple penalties in this very tournament up to this point?

I don't think that's a handball. The arm isn't extended in any capacity to make herself bigger.

If we're just going to kick a ball into defender's people arms for a handball call, that's not proper soccer.

I mean, I agree, and yet look at the last three months.
Last three months? What are you talking about, the champions league final? That arm was perpendicular to the body and pointing, so definitely not in a natural position. Today the arm was tight to the body and never moved. Big difference.

Now if you have other big examples that mimic O’Hara, by all means point them out, but “last three months” is really vague and not proving a point.

Japan handball against Netherlands.

A lot of natural position handballs have been called. I'd count the CL one.
