USMNT Talk

FootyLovin FootyLovin explain your rep!
I can explain this hire.

Kreis failed in NYC and ORL because he had to deal with veteran and high caliber foreign players. Those are players who know better than to put up with his whiny, negative, toxic constantly throwing his team under the bus. With youths that there is called motivation.

US Olympic squad is the perfect place to show that he can still asshole with the best of 'em.

People also need to recognize that the U.S. U-23 coach is a big step down from an MLS job. The only job Kreis can get now is as technical consultant with Miami (a job he will continue to hold, by the way). A U-23 job is temporary, not full time, and probably doesn't pay that much. This is Kreis trying to rehab his reputation as a coach so he can get back up to MLS level.

Isn't it likely that Kreis will be asked to coach Berhalter's system? Would be foolish if they don't.

You mean like when Kreis spent a year in Manchester learning the City Way and system only to run his safety blanket Diamond 442 when they weren’t looking?

Given some of the talent that is likely to play on that team (especially if they make the Olympics), it's hard to imagine that Berhalter wouldn't be paying attention.

You don’t have enough faith in Kreis’ ability to sabotage the team with his motivational ability and tactical nuances. Berhalter won’t be there prepping for matches and managing the game plan.

I get what you're saying but a player who is relatively new to the national team doesn't have the perspective that a veteran would when it comes to organizing a team on a short timeline.

I'm skeptical of Berhalter overall. I'm optimistic of his potential and want him to succeed.
Most former players scoff at the idea of experience and all that sort of shit actually mattering. Listen to Charlie Davies. He implies and almost explicitly states that he thinks the likes of Bradley shouldn’t be involved at all.

Wolf might be.

But I’m just trying to find some positives in the face of supporting a team run by the actual worst sort of people you could imagine in a league and country where the game is entirely owned by self-serving corruption and cronyism, so much so that it dictates who is hired as coaches and who gets called into camps.

US soccer as a cultural institution- not the corporate USSF - will never break free so long as SUM is around.

Bradley’s just an example.

Pulisic saying he’s amazed by Berhalter’s preparedness is tantamount to James Sands saying he’s unimpressed with Dome’s preparedness. Right wrong or indifferent, theirs may not be the opinion we need to be featuring in an article meant to ease the fear we all know could very well be true: Greg Berhalter might not be the best coach for the job.

Wait, so should I care about what you’re saying and should I disagree given what you know about me and the thousands of shit posts I have to my name?

Cuz if it’s now, just thanks for being

ETA: I think I was sleep posting. Who knows where I was going. Oh well.

J Mo not looking so good right now. McKennie doesn’t know where to go on the field either.

Pulisic is again playing out of his natural position.

We’ll see how this second half goes.

...I understand managers like playing Bradley because he has 'leadership mentality' or whatever the fuck that is, but he is the laziest player I've seen in a long time. God, it's so frustrating to watch.

I don't feel like we learned a whole lot tonight. I'm still interested in this concept of giving Adams a sort of "free role" that's based out of RB, but Ecuador just didn't feel like doing anything which would open up space for the US to operate.
