I have a trip planned for March. Well enough in advance so that I can save plenty of $$.
This will be my 4th time going so I’m pretty well familiarized with the strip.
I’d like some suggestions on comps/money saving tips. Also good restaurants since we would like to do a nice dinner each night.
Lots of good steakhouses but what’s your favorite and why?
The last few times I went I was cheap on food.
I have an MLife account and will be staying in a comp room.
Using MyVEGAS app to get discounts on food/drinks.
Best time to book the flight through Southwest? Seems that their fares don’t change much.

If you book a Southwest flight and the price goes down before your trip, call them and they will issue you a credit. I’ve done it 3 times.

The best steakhouse in Vegas (NI9E Steakhouse) closed a couple of years ago.
There is a new steakhouse (Scotch 80) where NI9E once was (at The Palms). It’s very good and has a nice whisky angle.

The best pizza in Vegas is called Secret Pizza. It’s at Cosmopolitan. Cosmopolitan also has an incredible breakfast place (Eggslut). Be prepared to wait in line for 15-20 minutes at both places.

Believe it or not, there is a great steakhouse at Circus Circus of all places. It’s been there for many years. It’s appropriately named “The Steakhouse”. It has a charming, old school feel. It’s worth the walk through the Circus Circus casino.

Have fun. We have a yearly guys trip to Vegas every May.

Thanks. You’re the second person to recommend The Steakhouse. Will have to check it out.
One of the people going is a breakfast connoisseur so they’ll appreciate the Eggslut lol.

Make me the 3rd person to recommend the Circus Circus Steakhouse.

Going to a wedding in Seattle Sept 9-11. I have to stop in Vegas on the way there and on the way back so I decided to stay in Vegas for 30 hours on the way home.

Booked one night at Aria on Sept 12th.

30 hours solo in Vegas. Let’s go!

This was a blast by the way. Met a very cute woman from Laos at the poker table.

I’m meeting her again at Aria this Thursday. She lives in LA.

Other than that bonus, this is by far the least excited I’ve been to go to Vegas but I feel grateful I can even go on vacation.

I’m flying there tomorrow

business or pleasure?
Taking my sister and brother. We were able to get some N95 masks to put ourselves at ease on the flight. Have a pretty full itinerary right now. Will have a car the entire time so plan on doing Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Red Rocks and Lake Meade. Going to walk the strip for sure but the forecast is calling for highs of 110. That’s hot even for us Floridians.

I made the trip a couple years ago, it was so much fun, really take in the view at the national parks and lake meade if you can. They are beautiful.

I live in Florida, too.

I’ve flown since C-19. My experience (Ft. Lauderdale to Albany) was very good. Other than wearing a mask for 3 hours, it was the most easy going flight experience I’ve ever had.

There were only 25 passengers on the A320 we were on. No one anywhere near me.

110 in Las Vegas doesn’t feel any different than 90 degrees in South Florida.

Enjoy your trip! I highly recommend you try Egg Slut at Cosmopolitan for breakfast.

A lot of coincidences... I’m staying at Bellagio and as soon as we get there and check in we’re going to Egg Slut. Hell’s Kitchen for dinner and we’re thinking Korean BBQ when we get back from our road trip on Tuesday. Wednesday will likely be one of the popular vegan places. Im flying out of Tampa and our plane is full aside from the middle row.

How was your stay? I fly out tomorrow morning. Honestly the biggest downfall was the bars. Couldn’t just walk up anywhere and get a drink.

I had a very nice time, I was not at legal drinking age yet so I didnt have any issues at the bars lol. The three things I remember most where just how big the Grand Canyon was, delicate arch was spectacular, and it was really odd seeing a canal in the middle of the Venetian casino/hotel

Edit: changed the name to the right casino/hotel

We made the 9 hour round trip yesterday. It was definitely worth it. The canal you’re referring to might be the Venetian. They have a canal and gondola rides that cut through the shopping area of the hotel.

Oops, you're totally right, I meant the Venetian! And you're right totally worth it!

Forgot about this thread. Uploading a couple of the pics I took. Grand Canyon was beautiful. We couldn’t get to Hoover Dam as the access road was closed for Covid reasons. Got a good shot of it from the flight back.

Grand Canyon:

Flew over the canyon on my way to LA just before New Years. Spent a week there, saw the new Mars lander at JPL, helped decorate some floats and went to the Rose Parade, etc. I actually went to the Grand Canyon as well a long time ago, but that was when I was 14 and in a way it was just too big for me to really grasp at the time. Looking forward to seeing it again one day.

That’s bad ass. The video and the track. We went over it on the flight back and I had a window seat. It’s an awesome sight.
