White Supremacists In Supporter Section

I don't intend to argue with anyone. I just feel I need to get this off of my chest since I've been on these forums for so long.

You either create a culture where extreme thought feels welcome and encouraged or you create a culture where extreme thought recognizes that its energy is not congruent. There are places where extremists decidedly ARE and ARE NOT. It's that simple for me.

People are free to be whatever they want. That does not mean that the game and the culture at NYCFC is a free for all. It's just not. Particularly when discussing the supporters section.

Very well said.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned in this overly thorough thread is the impact this could have on the stadium effort. Once our stadium is announced the struggle will become public and political. Accusations that the club is a haven for White Nationalists could provide an opposition with all the ammo it would need to kill the project.

And it won’t matter that the game day experience is overwhelmingly positive and inclusive and diverse. Facts won’t matter nearly as much as impressions and the Club is setting the table now for some very unfavorable impressions to form.

I agree with this. I think it's a much better way of handling this than calling for bans that are difficult to enforce consistently, or shaming people for associating with people.

What would you suggest?

For the people who were asking, this was it.

Haven’t you heard about the Slavic Nazis? Racists have no logic.
One would argue thatthe idea of nazism is uniquley german, to superimpose the idea of the german national socialists onto another nationstate or people would be a bit absurd

I find it disappointing that nowhere has the Club publicly issued a statement about these banned individuals. I don't even need to know their names, but at least have a Club statement rather then letting journalist report it.

kvschnitzer How did you hear about this?

i understand why they wouldnt. why would they want to put themselves in a negative light over a couple bad fans that have been banned. Are other sports organizations putting out something when they ban unruly fans?

Fair point.
