Who Might Sign With Mls In 2016?

From my reading of the interview sounds like if Zlatan goes anywhere it will be for Beckham in Miami.

@ Z4CH3B99. My apologies.

I was just sharing the info and my enthusiasm on my first post as to why I think Zlatan is heading to either teams in New York and pretty much I'm fingered as an obsessed Zlatan fan and stalking his purchases. lol.

I’m just a casual soccer fan and not hard core and I’m just excited for our team here in NYC along with the Red Bulls. It’s exciting times to be a soccer fan.

Ain’t no big deal and I never go on this forum anyway as I just wanted to share something to you all which clearly was a mistake.

Go NYCFC!!!

Not really sure why Zlatan would leave now. He's still got the talent to compete at top levels in Europe. Would I mind seeing him in MLS? No. In fact, I'd love to see him playing for an MLS team soon.

He would become the only MLS player with a bigger cult following than Poku.
I don't like this attitude. You're telling me Villa and Pirlo can't play at top levels of Europe now? Both literally played in the top, top level days before signing for us.

Yes, Zlatan is a different level. But he's always been.

Villa made Tot'num look stupid.

And Pirlo is a few months out from leading his team to the pinnacle of the sport. I doubt he's gone that far off the cliff. Haha

Agreed.

He'd be the highest paid player in MLS. And my cult following of Poku is pretty big.

Come on Garber, let's get that 4th DP spot. I'd also be okay with a sign and loan situation with Man City. They can have him for 2016, we get him 2017 when Lampard is gone.
HELLLLLLL no. Don't think Ibra would do that anyway.

Aaron Lennon
It's true that Lennon is under-used. As a toffee I'd love to see him play for Everton for a good while yet, but after thinking about it he does seem like someone who probably won't ever get enough first team minutes in the EPL and could jump at a new opportunity in MLS.
That said, he's not exactly a "name" who would put asses in seats just by recognition alone. Maybe that makes him a candidate for a smaller-market team?

Maybe Lampard will do the right thing and retire so we can get Zlatan. You know, do it for the club.
I think Zlatan would sign to start next summer now. He's fucking sick of Europe. He's ready to come shoot guns and kill shit and be odd because he's a soccer player, not because of his attitude.

Seriously, the guy is basically a Texan with a different kind of boots.

Mark Cuban buys FC Dallas, signs Zlatan. Zlatan and Dirk become BFFs.

NYC has no DP spots.
RB won't spend the money.
Holy shit, Zlatan to the Cosmos?!?!?!
None of that matters. When a player's daughter spills it the rumored deal is as good as inked. At least that's what I learned from the month of June.

You calling me an idiot didn't exactly go over very well. Regardless, no hard feelings.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. The difference between Villa and Zlatan is that Zlatan plays a very important role for his team right now in Europe. Some might say he's the best player on PSG's roster. Villa wasn't nearly as important to his team when he left. Does that mean he wasn't good enough to continue playing in Europe? No, it most certainly doesn't.

ok. so how do we get zlatan. for that, i'd get onboard with the "just send frank home" party.
Given that Zlatan seems at least possibly poised to make the leap in summer 2016 you would need either the "calf strain" to be a career ending injury that took Lampard off our roster or MLS to add a 4th DP which Garber just said isn't happening anytime soon. Neither seems likely.

We are all better off looking at frees in summer 2017 and 2018.
