Will We Be Able To Climb Out Of Our Hole And Make The Playoffs?

I believe we will just make it to that 6th place playoff spot and maybe, just maybe, make some noise in the playoffs. I hope we can push on in the Open Cup as well. I'll be satisfied and call it a good 1st year with a playoff spot and a couple wins in the Open Cup.
I doubt this very much. Maybe for you this is true. But here's how NY works.
1. Set crazy high expectations.
2. Freak out over missing the unrealistic.
3. Spend massive money to course correct.
4. Get positive new results after spending.
5. Reset even crazier expectations.
6. Never be satisfied or happy except for the 3 hours following the winning of a championship.

It's the NY way.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Seeing as how the Yankees and Giants are the only local teams to have won with anything approaching regularity, I'm not sure items 4 and 6 come into play all that much.

They are rare, which speaks to the general disillusionment and disagreeableness of your typical NY sports fan.

I think that might be the Yankees way. If you're a long-suffering Mets fan, as I am:

1. Totally false, not even possible
2. No chance for a freak out because we're used to it
3. hahahahahahahahaha!
4. See #3
5. See #1
6. It's been almost 3 decades. I kind of forget what it feels like.

7. Let's go Mets!

Nice. Actually I come at this having been a Mets fan but gave up baseball in the late 90s when they added an hour to the game but didn't add any more innings. (Look it up youngins. A baseball game used to last a little over 2 hours.)

I was a Knicks fan but gave up that sport after the last lockout.

I was a Bills fan (the only NY team as any NYCFC blue would have to agree) but gave up football when I had kids.

So I've pretty much only celebrated 1 championship my entire life. Hoping NYCFC can change that.

Mets, Knicks and Bills. Have you considered that you might be the problem? Any chance I can interest you in a red bulls season ticket package?

I think they'll make a legit playoff push. They've come on lately at a time where a few other clubs are having a difficult time. Very few points separate contenders and those on the bottom on the standings in the eastern conference.

In our actual situation and after the elimination from the US Open Cup, is it to win the MLS Cup our chance to partecipate next Concacaf Champions League ?

Correct. MLS Cup win is the most realistic shot we have.

We currently have the following ways of getting in the Champions League: winning the Eastern Conference table at the end of the regular season (or even the MLS table, i.e. The Supporters Shield) or winning the MLS Cup. As Midas Mulligan Midas Mulligan said, our best chance right now is getting into the playoffs and winning the MLS Cup.

That's like saying me banging Scarlett Johansson is more realistic than banging Taylor Swift.

We have a better chance of winning the MLS cup than any one of our players banging Scarlett Johansson or Taylor Swift. Except Mix, with that hair, he scores when he wants.

After the Pirlo announcement these odds go way up. I mean for one of our players to get with Taylor Swift. MLS Cup should be impossible. And if it isn't oh what a sad statement for the league.
