I was positive. Had a rapid test and found out 15 minutes after testing. Saturday - Monday was rough. I was genuinely worried I’d develop worse symptoms. I woke up Saturday with body aches and chills. On Sunday I lost my sense of taste and smell and the body aches worsened. Monday morning my lower back felt like I pulled a muscle and I was practically walking slouched over. Then by Monday night I already started feeling better.
I experienced little to no respiratory symptoms. Just phlegm in the back of my throat, which I found was the body attempting to discard the virus. My brother was leaving me food at the bottom of the stairs and going down and up 12 steps I would actually get a bit winded. Other than that I barely coughed at all.
Woke up today with hardly any muscle aches. Just a bit of tightness in the areas that hurt the days prior. Never experienced a fever or headache and I only took Acetaminophen a handful of times for the muscle aches. Hopefully another 7 days of quarantine and I’ll be totally in the clear. I talked to one of my buddies that had it and 2 months removed from symptoms and he still hasn’t fully recovered his sense of taste. That’s going to suck.

glad you are feeling better. hope you are not one of the long haulers. i know a few people who experience unexplained symptoms long after having covid and it sucks. luckily, they acknowledge that covid long term symptoms are an actual thing here in NYC and will treat it as such. i've read a lot of other parts of the country will discount the person, which has got to suck.

wish you a speedy and FULL recovery with no lasting effects.

Yeah I read into a bit and luckily I didn’t have most of those symptoms short term so hopefully it eliminates the possibility of long term issues.

Sorry to hear that you had Covid, but I am glad you are feeling better.

I've decided now that I will get it as soon as I am eligible, which will probably be February-April and if supplies were greater right now, id probably get it sooner. Now the only question for me is which one will I seek out? I'm less enthusiastic about the Oxford vaccine, but as more data comes out maybe that one will look better. For now, I'll be looking for either the Pfizer or Moderna once available.
I've become more enthusiastic about it based upon the generally solid trial results thus far, but also because the second wave was for real. Had the case numbers been more in line with Augusts numbers, id be more hesitant but the risk/reward has shifted dramatically towards getting vaccinated since I first started this thread.

i know a few people who are getting their first dose today as well. I don't think we plebians will be eligible for at least a couple months yet...

Pfizer.

She said the scene at the hospital was like a party. All these doctors who knew each other but hadn’t necessarily interacted in months and everyone was in a great mood.

Am i correct in my inference that neither she nor even her hospital administrators had much choice in which to take? I would guesstimate that at this stage you take whatever version you can get your hands on, even if you're in the top category of first to get vaccinated.
