For me it was the state website. Just keep reloading. Someone said it’s every 20 minutes for née appointments to show up.

I signed up on Sunday morning when they added eligibility for people with comorbidities. Appointments are hard to get right now, but you can try here: https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/
By the time I logged on around 9AM WCC was booked up. I'm a comorbidity person with T1 Diabetes, so was hoping I'd be able to walk 10 minutes to get the vaccine since I'm in White Plains. Currently scheduled a road trip to Syracuse in March, but looking into other locations as well.

Yes, I do understand that I will also have to travel to Syracuse twice.

Sorry to hear that. I'm relatively young, but also have a comorbidity. To be honest, I felt a little guilty that I was able to get in and grab an appointment so quickly when so many others have been struggling. Hope you find more success. It sounds like they are increasing vaccine distribution to the states, so hopefully they add some more appointments and you can get in.

I’m a teacher in the city and have gotten both doses of the Moderna. The second one had me curled up in a ball for most of the day.

I personally know three very healthy 30 something/40 something’s who felt completely wiped out for 48 hours after their 2nd dose. Like, not leaving the house for 2 days wiped out. No fever but zero energy and bad body aches.

I’ll still get the vaccine but I just wanted to share that.

I've spent much of the last few days on my phone scouring websites to book appointments for family. Seniors simply don't know how to internet, but we have basically an internet only reservation system. Seniors without active young family support are screwed.
On the other hand, I'm now the most beloved member of my generation in my family so I'll be coasting come Christmas!

Btw. CVS should have been given national priority in distribution outside of hospitals and limited community clinics. They have by far the best, albeit imperfect, registration and operational process at least in MA.

i check the NY state website often. there are two (it seems) versions. One lists the mass vaccination centers, while the other lists more localized, smaller vaccination points like pharmacies in addition to the mass vaccination points.

From what I can tell, smaller vaccination points like pharmacies are still limited to 65+ and aren't open to people with qualifying comorbidities. This is based solely on the website information. I have not attempted to register or call to inquire further.

Has anyone who qualifies for the vaccine based on comorbidities been able to get a vaccine at a pharmacy or smaller vaccine point?

NY's system is pretty clunky. Once you are at the NY state website, you'd think you'd be done. But each location seems to have their own registration system, which you are redirected to. Then, if that website isn't updated properly, it just sends you back to the NY state website. It's a mess and I am quite savvy with the interwebz. I'm surprised so many people have been able to get vaccinated given the extremely clunky system in place.

For New York City vaccine info the place to go is https://www.turbovax.info, and follow them on Twitter. They tweet out available time slots the instant they become available, and if you have their Twitter notifications turned on you'll find out immediately. For example, as of two minutes before I typed this there were 42 available appointments at the Brooklyn Army Terminal on March 8. By the time I hit the Post Reply button they'll be gone, but that's the easiest way I've found to find a vaccine. Another example, if you're in Brooklyn they just posted that Medgar Evers has 8,000 slots open, although the 42 at the Army Terminal are now gone.

i just noticed the army terminal is not even listed on : https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/

i'm waiting for javitz to have something available so i don't have to commute AND wait forever in line. i can just walk to the javitz..

Just an FYI. CVS is now allowing K-12 and early childhood to book appointments in New York.

They have open appointments in NY at this moment, but it appears as though they are primarily operating away from NYC so it would take a road trip for you city dwellers.

Getting my first shot, finally, on Monday through CVS (in Mass) so by end of the month I'll be fully vaccinated! It's not over yet, but it is kind of exciting to see the light at the end of this. Many in my family already received or are scheduled to receive both doses by Easter, which is one of the bigger holidays in my family due to fewer branches having big gatherings to split between in-laws. So this is exciting we've already decided that we will have a gathering, albeit still outside mostly.

So is NY pretty much opened up to all ages getting vaccinated? I’m seeing a lot of young people saying they are getting it.

It's open to people of any age who have health conditions like obesity, diabetes, etc. 10 million of NY's 19 million residents are now eligible (and many of those not eligible are children)

CVS, at least as of this moment, has appointments available in some NYCish places such as White Plains, Yonkers and more.

Edit: I just realized CVS is only allowed to book 65+ and school staff in NY, not Pre-existing conditions people.

I'm trying to help my dad get a vaccine in New Jersey where he lives. It's very, very, very difficult.

yea - once pharmacies open up with more eligibilities, it would make it easier to get a vaccine. right now it's still too difficult to get one at a state run center that's local (i def. don't want to commute). closest for me is javitz and i wish they would limit like 50% of the appointments to manhattan residents only.

I’d recommend checking the CVS site regularly throughout the day. I was having the same issue with my parents as well. Then one day I clicked in and was able to get my mom, dad and aunt all scheduled. It was at CVS’ all over the Bay Area, but at least they got it! They also have you schedule the second dose when you schedule the first which is great. I know some people that are struggling to schedule their second dose after getting the first at a mass vaccination site.

That's interesting. I got my first dose a few weeks ago at the County Center, and they automatically schedule your second dose for you -- I got an email the next day with the confirmation for 21 days later at the same time as my first dose. Crazy that other states aren't doing something similar.
