Xavi Hernandez To Nycfc?

It's not the ones he makes that results in my not rating him.

Agree with the rest of it.

I've watched as many RBNY matches as I can this year to help bring myself up to speed for our derbies next year and his misses aren't much worse than Dempsey's, Henry's, or Dwyer's (who had a pretty terrible match just the other day, actually). They all have examples of some fairly horrific misses or poor touches in the box.

That said, I can see why you wouldn't rate him so I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, more playing devil's advocate.

Fair enough. He is probably the 4th or 5th best player they have.
1- Henry
2a - Cahill
2b - Robles (very under-rated IMO, might be worth a look as a veteran backup/spot-duty keeper for B-team friendlies similar to Rimando role now)
4/5 - Olave/BWP I'd put Olave over him any year prior to this one. Olave hasn't been very good at all this year.

I agree with that. It is difficult to get ahead of Henry and Cahill. Robles has been fairly good every time I have watched and Olave has been mediocre (he played well against Columbus but then had a nightmare performance against Philadelphia–Miazga had to clean-up for him far too often).

That Oyongo lad does not look half bad, either. If he improves his positional awareness he could be what Micah Richards should be now (poor Micah, made of glass, unfortunately).

There's no extra details in that report that haven't been said before. This isn't a new rumour coming out, it's a rehash. You guys are going to get very used to these all in good time. It's just an old story which has been recycled so that the website can look like it has new news to print.

First article I've read that states that he's agreed to a deal, and I've read a lot of them.

Seen this before but was reminded of it by reddit user SweetEnolaGay's thread

Hahah, this is why I hate the rumor mill. Yesterday, that same source reported that he agreed with NYCFC and it will be announced soon. Now he reports this. So annoying. I hope it ain't true. Would love to see Xavi in NYC blue.

It seems our boy did a U-Turn. Oh well..I really won't lose sleep over him. I would have preferred someone younger anyways.

Would have been cool - but now he's turning into a mercenary all of a sudden. I guess we wait and see until next summer. Who knows.

At this point (and this is very American of me) I want players on my team who want to be here. I truly believe that David Villa bought into what is happening not only with NYCFC but the MLS. CFG did a good job selling him the goods and he bought it hook line and sinker like we all have. He's a believer. I think he could have received similar money elsewhere but chose to be here.

No clue about Lampard. I don't know what his options are/where.

I will forever love DV7 for being the first one to take a chance on a club who just started on a different continent in a league not as prestigious. The House that Villa built?

I gotta say, for me it's all about Jason Kreis. This guy walked from what can be argued as the best MLS team to take the reins of what amounts to an idea. Now I ain't saying Jason Kreis is god-tier but he is a home-grown hero that took an enormous risk.

Oh yea can't forget about Kreis too.
