Yangel Herrera [Midfielder]

No link, saw it on TV, but Yangel was in the u20 team of the tournament.

Josh Sargent was the only 17 year old to make it (on the bench) and EPB made the starting CB
We have been covering most of this news in the u20 roster thread if you want to check out others thoughts. But this is a nice place to note Herrera's achievement and also his bronze ball award.

Btw, which tott are you referring to?

Our relationship with CFG is shitty enough because of Lampardgate. If they sell Yangel midseason fans will be protesting for them to sell the team. I don't think they want to risk that.

Yes, given how the season is going and how important he has been, it would create a shitstorm, and rightfully so.

Of course, the unknown here is whether Herrera would start pushing for the transfer and creating issues. Hopefully not. He is great for us, but I don't know that he is there yet for Ligue One.

Their transfer window closes on August 31, by the way.

sell? i mean they just bought him...unless lyon is offering like double what they paid i dont see them selling yet....i dont know if lyon are big spenders to begin with ( outside PSG and Monaco)

maybe city will sell one day....just not now since he can improve alot and value will go up there as well.
Yep, exactly. Not to mention, CFG does not need to money from a sale.

In the current situation with YH making less than $200k, his value to NYCFC is more than that of a DP. To replace him would require at a minimum a TAM level player, and considering what he could develop into, a Full DP player. There's no way CFG can skirt the Cap rules with a better player that doesn't require more investment resources. Having him shore up the club's midfield is worth way more than a transfer fee.

It seems likely that Herrera will be moving to somewhere in Europe after our season is over (most likely on loan).

If so, the new DP (taking Pirlo's spot) will be a box-to-box mid to replace Herrera.

The player was an anonymous and very possibly was fake news. We just made assumptions.
