I'd assume we don't necessarily have the same buy option on a player like Herrera that is standard for MLS loans. Yes, it might say that in the contract. But there may very well be a nod and a wink with CFG that they expect to bring him back to MCFC after a year. Others will complain about that. I'm okay with it. Just makes it a normal loan.

Because apart from any self-dealing rules that might forbid it, why would Man City want to engage in sham transactions to give us money?

This isn't true. I am fairly sure you're guaranteed one that doesn't have to have a buy option. It's just preferred. And it may just be a preference, period.

IMO this is essentially permanent unless City sells him to some team in the continent. Even if good enough for City, such a slim chance he would qualify for a WP.

In that short video of one game above, he made at least three plays I could not see Bravo making. Can't say shit about his hustle and positioning yet, but he sure seems to have the talent and skill to be better than Bravo out of the gate.

If you look earlier on in this thread or the roster thread it was confirmed he is not a DP so yes we have DP #3 still an option.

And remember that even if Maxi is announced as a DP, there's a good likelihood that the wage is low enough it could be bought down with TAM if we wanted to make room for a summer DP.
