I'm not going to argue personal experience. My personal experience could indicate many a thing but none of that matters. Real research matters.

With that said, it's probably time for me to sign off for the day.

even with the small sample of this forum itself i see way more "Long Island Guys" than "Westchester Guys" dont know how we could actually get the statistics of who goes to the games and where theyre from unless the front office shows their records of ticket sales.

You dont have to leave on my account, ill shut up now

Can't help but feel this is way off base without verified stats. The teams sole job is to market this team to fans in the region and the fact that LI was left off is telling. If they just "forgot" to add it to the survey then why not update it? If it was intentionally left off, then one would have to assume that it's because the draw there is negligible.

I'm glad you "feel" it's way off base. We also felt that YS would draw better than Citi, and this week's last minute match proved otherwise. You're also forgetting the spelling error in the email headline! If that could get by them, why not forgetting a major county to include. Especially if it's done by an intern who's not a NY native. Sometimes the club just plain screws up. And hopefully the way we drew on Sunday shows their market research may be off base as well.

Nets haven't played in Long Island in 30 years. Isles had god awful teams the last 2 decades and an old stadium too small for NHL standards before they moved. When they were good the place was almost full. Also, half of Long Island are Rangers fans, splintering the fan base. When it comes to soccer, you'd have the almost full LI fan base to draw from (aside for some diehard NJRB fans). Probably a larger base then Westchester has to offer.

The Nets play on Long Island right now, as do the Islanders. Both are always near the bottom in attendance.
The Nets did not leave the island originally because every night was a sellout.
If the Islanders played in too small a stadium and couldn't fill it when they were good it shows there just aren't enough people or a lack of support.
Maybe it would work with soccer as there are only 17 home matches, the same way people drive to the meadowlands for
football but not for basketball.
The reason the Yankees Rangers and Knicks draw more people than the Mets Rangers and Nets is because its easier for more people to get there.
More people live in Ct NNJ Westchester and Orange than on the island.

Yeah, I think this is more of a Brooklyn problem than a Long Island problem. The Mets play on Long Island too.

You can get to northern Queens pretty easily from Westchester, Connecticut and Manhattan. Brooklyn is a tougher trip from those first two, and the Brooklyn teams compete with Manhattan teams, so that covers the third.

Long Island by itself isn't going to support a team. You would be no better putting a team in Suffolk or Nassau than you would in Westchester. But, if you can find a spot that is convenient to both, then you have something.

Good. This was a silly unforced error, reminding me of the early days when people in Manchester were drafting all the emails and polls.
I'm not looking forward to the close season. Let me grab a think real quick to see how I'm going to spend my time. My true colours may come out

Who cares about LI or Westchester. The club know's that it's real fans, myself and Angela Miller Angela Miller live in the Springfield/Hartford area!
Yes 4 413Blue your correct on where i live sweetie .But to this issue i don't know what to say cause i don't know how long i'll stay . There are so many better educated people on this forum who know and understand the facts more than i . I can't really vote anyway . I'v only been to Yankee Stadium .

I will say this Remember Folks this Team has Yankee's Capital and are in partnership for the community . This team has to be loyal to it's Backers and Bankers . I'd be willing to place a bet that Nobody from The Mets Brass have shaken the hands of our boy's or our brass like the Yankees have . Lets not be spoiled brats . My Respect is for Yankee Ground ! That played a Huge Part in Andrea's decision to come here in the first place .

Wow people from Long Island take themselves really seriously huh
