I just posted this in the Stadium Thread, but now I think it warrants its own thread, as this looks like it will affect us next year.

Yankee Stadium to undergo numerous enhancements for 2017 season

"As a result of the offseason enhancements, the Yankees are removing just under 2,100 seats, including approximately 1,100 obstructed-view Bleachers seats and approximately 600 Terrace Level seats."

Not sure what to make of this. I mean, it was embarrassing to build the stadium with such obstructed views from the beginning. But, to me, this is just a money grab to charge more than what it cost to sit in the bleachers.

All areas described above will be open for New York City FC fans to enjoy in 2017. The impending construction will affect a very limited number of ticketholders for potential New York City FC playoff matches in 2016, all of whom will be directly contacted by the club.

The second link you provided said they batter's eye will be increased to 3 times its previous size. Seems like the only existing section that is being modified, though perhaps you're correct that the construction of the new landings will interfere with nearby bleacher sections

MASTERCARD BATTER'S EYE DECK: Located on the 200 level in center field with a clear, sweeping view of the entire Stadium, the MasterCard Batter's Eye Deck will be expanded to 3,500 square feet and will include drink-rails overlooking the field. This outdoor gathering space will feature craft beers, cocktails and a large selection of food options.

I know a couple of forum members who might be getting a call.

I'm trying to understand where these 600 terrace seats are being removed from. Are they taking out seats for the kids play area or that Budweiser party deck (which seems to have seats and a bar behind it) ?

If I'm one of these people, I'd ask to be upgraded to Pitchside for the inconvenience. They have the space (for probably 20-30 more people there) and maybe NYCFC wants Pitchside to look full for tv purposes...

What is this? A playground for ants?

Honestly, this just shows you that baseball is not a sport for America's youth anymore. It's so slow that Yankee Stadium needs to build a playground to keep kids entertained.

Also, A-Rod will be batting third for the Yankees in 2017...

Wow, it's a 1-1 count on a sunny day in the fifth inning, with the Yankees winning 6-2 ... and the tarp is over the mound? And where are the fielders? I'm so confused!

I'm glad they're doing this -- anything to improve the fan experience for baseball is a good thing. Obviously not much can (or needs) to be done to improve the fan experience for NYCFC -- it's already about as good as it can be.

Well damn. I may just keep them now.

Or...that bullpen landing looks like it might be sweet viewing.
