The Club and the YES Network announced coverage plans today. Joe Tollison and Ian Joy are back.

http://www.nycfc.com/post/2016/02/22/yes-launch-second-season-new-york-city-fc

The announcement provided some game times for matches that were previously TBD. It also includes a delayed broadcast start for the game against Philly on April 23 (the live stream will be on FoxSports Go).

The announcement opens up a few questions as there are several games that one would think would be on YES, but aren't listed. These include the following:

- Wed, April 27, 7pm: Home vs. Impact
- Sat, June 18, 1pm: Home vs. Philly
- Wed, July 6, 7:30pm: at New England

These seem to be games where there is a much more serious overlap with a Yankees game. Looks like we may need to watch these via MLS Live or some other option.

Right now I don't see how the two Wednesday games end up being broadcast. They'll either be online only or will have to be carried on another network. The Saturday game, they can at least push the kickoff back to a late afternoon/night game.

4/27 vs Montreal (Wednesday)
  • NYCFC kickoff: TBD
  • Yankees first pitch: 8:05pm
6/18 vs Philadelphia (Saturday)
  • NYCFC kickoff: TBD
  • Yankees first pitch: 2:10
7/6 @ New England (Wednesday)
  • NYCFC kickoff: TBD
  • Yankees first pitch: 8:10

They will have trouble moving that Saturday afternoon game to a later start, because the Yankees return home on Tuesday June 21, three days later. If NYCFC play Saturday evening, the grounds crew cant start switching the field until the middle of the night, which I'm sure they don't want to do even if it gives them enough time.

I'm pretty sure it's PIX11, so we'll have to check the Mets schedule too.

Too lazy to look it up, but does anyone recall how many games YES had last year? Seems like it was a lot more than 14. 20 games on national tv? LOL, yeah that's gotta bug the haters!

Time to take out a collection to buy Crash Davis a 6-pack of Milwaukee's Best for each of those two weekday nights so that he can guarantee a couple of Yankee rainouts.

NYCFC had a game played on YES2 which is a rollover channel in the 400s or something. The problem was that the game went beyond the set time and then changed to a segment on high school football during the 87'. I believe this was the away match vs Montreal.

And the award for most likely thing to happen this season goes to...

Lol I can't remember which game it was, but I remember vividly the shoutbox starting out with everyone furious, and by the time they finally put our game on some of us were actually cheering for one team or the other. The TV shenanigans last year will be hard to top. I hope.
