When I first heard that NYC would gets it own soccer team I was excited. Regardless of the owners or any of the drama around it, I was excited because I knew it would help grow the sport in the US. Besides comedy and food, the other thing I'm passionate about is soccer. I don't care if you love the team or hate it, having a soccer team in NYC has undoubtedly raised the profile of the sport in our biggest and most important city. I immediately had the idea to get two season tickets and invite a non-soccer fan to each match and interview them on their thoughts, before and after the match. With the help of Christian Polanco and our The Cooligans channel, I finally got a chance to do an episode of my dream show with good friend Pete Lee, who had never been to a professional soccer match. I would love to take all of the credit for the good time he had but the fans and their passion deserve all the credit. You guys are the best and made us look good!
