You really think so? Considering how I barely see RBNY jerseys when I visit the city, and considering the quiet atmosphere and empty seats I saw on TV for the Red Bulls Arena game...I doubt itll be anywhere close to half and half fans.
Well, you're probably right about not half and half. But what I meant was that I'd think it'll be more than just the one away supporters section and more like a Mets/Yankees game where both teams have a lot of fans in the stadium.
Do we know how many sections have been designated for the opposing team?
310-319 is apparently for all Red Bulls supporter groups. This way, each team's supporter groups will be at opposite ends of the stadium. Besides that anyone can buy a ticket in any section for the game. They haven't opened up all section in the 300s and 400s only the ones with good viewing angles.
It's crazy that the red bulls have been around for so long, yet you almost never see anyone rocking red bulls gear. Meanwhile I see people repping NYCFC everywhere now.
According to wikipedia normal capacity for soccer is 33,444 but when you open the upper decks it can hold up to 49,642.
Yes, I know that. But in some MLS games the attendance is greater than official capacity ( Sporting Kansas for example )........
Technically yes with standing room only seats.
Largest soccer crowd was Liverpool vs. Manchester City at 49,653 on July 30, 2014
it's because the red bulls aren't a New York team. New Yorkers don't rock new jersey gear.
