An Nycfc Christmas Present

To all users of NYCFCForums and fans of the NYCFC,

As you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Festivus, or whatever holiday you choose, think about what present NYCFC should give to you. We support this club through thick and thin. We give them money on jerseys, merchandise, tickets, time, and passion. So I made this poll with options to chose of what you want most of all from NYCFC this year.

I picked the MLS Cup but in all honesty I just want some quality football from a team that has the drive to win. Of course as many goals and wins as we can possibly get along the way would be great too. Kick some RedBull ass and as much Poku as you can humanly get are givens. A personal wish of mine would be Patrick Mullins minutes but that might not happen, oh well. Anyways, happy holidays everyone and may the force be with us all.

Sweeping the Red Balls likely means we had a very good season, possibly MLS cup and Supporter's Shield good even so I went with that one. Like em or hate em, they're gonna be good next year.

Stadium doesn't make much of a difference to me. Yeah, it will be great to have our own but Yankee Stadium has grown on me a lot.

The achievements will all come, I'd wager within 7 years. The CFG gripe options - get over it. But the stadium. It's a legit fear that we could be no further along 20 years from now.

It was very hard not including that as one of the poll options. MIX HAT TRICK TRAIN 2016 WOOWOO!

I picked MLS Cup. I'm happy with Yankee Stadium in terms of location, amenities, and current atmosphere. I don't think we'll find a better location in terms of parking and public transportation. That being said, even a sweep of the Red Bulls doesn't mean an MLS Cup but winning the Cup before the Red Bulls is like Portland winning before Seattle. So yeah, I picked the MLS Cup and will wait for the stadium when it finally...is announced.

In the end you're right. And here's what I think is happening.

We are one year in. We haven't won anything. Our first season had some fun and some excitement but failed to impress. And yet, I think we all on some level simply expect the championship to happen. In 3 year? 5? 7? Who knows? But we believe it will.

The stadium on the other hand ... I think most of us believe we could spend the rest of our lives in YS.

Is YS so bad? No. Is assuming championships a little crazy? Sure.

But that's us. We're NYCFC. And we expect greatness.

YS wouldn't be so bad if my concourse didn't have a Flagship Nathans stand.... I'm all for stadium food, but no amount of beer will help digest Nathans.... I blame the Yankees for that crap - the 20% stake-holder should be 100% invested in quality concessions.
