meh

EDIT: interesting they didnt invite any MLS teams to take part. i dont doubt they will have friendlies with a few just that i guess they didnt want them involved in this "tournament"

How the hell does Leicester City get lumped into the "international champions" cool kids club? they haven't even won the PL title YET.

They're a great storyline this year, but c'mon . . . and their resume isn't that jaw dropping either . . . a few FA Cup finals and a bunch of English 2nd division titles?

I think I'll pass, although I'm sure it will be a great game. It only takes a handful of RM fans at a bar to make me consider leaving I can't imagine being in a stadium full of them. Every time they show up at the local bar where myself and most others are there to watch EPL games they start the day by demanding that as many TVs are changed over to the RM game as possible. When they get push back we have to hear about how the EPL is crap and La Liga is so much better. Then for the next two hours we have the pleasure of listening to them cry at every missed chance to score another goal against some crappy bottom table team because they are only winning 5-0 and it should be 8-0 if only that "shit player Bale" would just pass to Ronaldo!

Yeah it's interesting. I'd guess they're just assuming there will be a bunch of new bandwagon American fans, whether they win the title or not.

Chat shit, get banged.

that's what we're good for in the US . . . making an easy buck on bandwagon fans . . . but doesn't look like Leicester is scheduled to play in the US yet. Just a game in Scotland against Celtic and a game against PSG (venue TBA).

we got a lot of those (bandwagon fans) in my neck of the woods. every year I see the same people buying jerseys for the hot team of the day . . . 49ers, then Seahawks, the Broncos, then Panthers, etc.

The "International Champions Cup" exhibition friendlies (none of these teams will field their A team) are organized by the same people who want to start the European Super League; Relevent (sic) Sports. https://www.releventsports.com/

Membership in the European Super League would solely be based on worldwide name recognition of the teams invited to participate.

Leicester is included in these exhibitions because their unexpected success has made them (nearly) a household name among people who follow soccer.

I had a feeling they were behind this. Seems almost like a sneak preview. As much as I'd hate to support those behind that league, I don't think I could pass up a chance to see these teams locally just for fun, B team or not.

Ticket pre-sale for this game is tomorrow at 10am on TicketMaster. General pubic tickets are available April 5th at 1oam. I plan on going simply because it's a great opportunity to see two top European teams play live. Yes, it's a crap shoot as to who will actually be on the pitch, but I still think it's well worth it regardless of who plays. And sometimes you do get lucky - I saw Zlatan score a goal last summer at Red Bulls Arena. *priceless*

Just tried buying at the exact time they went on sale and it was a disaster. The choices I was given were very limited - only sections 101, 103, 149 behind the goal and only from price range of $80 - $117. The range goes from $50 to $505. I'm holding off for now. Will try again during week but hope to do better during general public sale. Tickets already up on StubHub at ridiculous prices.

I wonder if Ancelotti will be there by then. I assume so, which would mean we could be some of the first to see him coaching Bayern. I'm not a huge fan of either team, but I can't argue with seeing these 2 so close by. It could be a game full of bench players for both sides and it'll still be more quality than anything in MLS. Definitely going to try and grab a few tickets if I can.

Big name players from Bayern you'll possibly see include Robben, Lahm, Xabi Alonso, and Ribery. I believe most everyone else will be tied up with the Euros or Copa America. Ancelotti will be there unless he gets hurt XD.

Missing-
EURO- Neuer, Müller, Götze, Lewandowski, Alaba, Coman, Thiago, Boateng?
COPA- Vidal, Costa

I got tickets for section 103, at an insane price though. I love Bayern, so it'll be good to see the older guys as well as some of the kids, maybe even a new signing too.

They smartened up. Last year saw Bayern at RBA and it was a nightmare.
