According to a BBC sport article, Scottish champions Celtic have had initial contact with representatives from the NASL and are looking to get in contact with MLS about the potential opportunity to start a club in the USA. The team is looking to grow it's global brand.

If Celtic think they are big enough to support an MLS team they are delusional. Maaaaaaybe they could support a mid-level NASL club and use it for USA scouting but that's about it.
