Seems like an odd move. He was on 238k last season and probably isn't MLS level, so I guess it makes sense. I just thought this mechanism was more tailored towards big contracts that are underperforming.

ouch, i think nycfc gave up GAM to get his homegrown rights and now they buy him out. this did not work out at all. i think only keaton is only american brought from europe that has worked out.

i think that salary can be used for a couple of homegrowns ( or three? ) or NYCFC 2 players instead.

Use it or lose it. If they don’t have a big contract to use it on. But they have a small one that makes sense…

First post in the thread confirms we sent GAM to RB for his MLS rights. It also says we could potentially owe more if certain benchmarks are hit. It could be we cut him because he wasn't worth the extra GAM.
