Her husband, Paul Foster, wanted to bring an MLS team to El Paso, Texas. Initially MLS was willing to entertain the idea of expanding to El Paso. Then, out of nowhere, the league suddenly changed their mind.
De la Vega is a member of the FMF (Mexican federation) board and decided that she wanted to start a team in her hometown of Ciudad Juarez.
I'm not really sure if there was any correlation between the rejection of MLS and the founding of FC Juarez. The new Juarez team had been rumored since the death of the Indios a few years back.
Yes i think this was always what was wanted but not ownership group could pull it off i guess due to lack of funding until now?
if they get promoted i assume same ownership stays no? or is MLS still what is wanted?

They're very wealthy and involved in the community. I highly doubt that the ownership group will change. I also highly doubt that they give a rats ass about MLS anymore.
i guess having two teams in texas really ended any hope for them to have a team there, plus with the texas based USL teams then its even less of a possibility, plus with San Antonio possibly moving to USL then it may be worse.
still i hope they do well, seem to have a good ascenso team if they get promoted will they change back to Indios name? or just keep what it is? some say the colors arent really appealing

The colors are a neon green, red, and black.
They aren't changing the name anytime soon. It's a different owner and this is a different team. They have a contract with Umbro and Liga MX under their current name.
i dont know if I want atlante back in primera. ill say juarez since i recall they had a good fan base when they were in primera last time.
i never wanted atlante/ necaxa back in first division because they never draw. I know their fanbase is like 99% in mexico city, is there any space near outskirts to make small stadiums there? if they find space there then id be ok with them coming back.

I'm not so sure that Juarez or Atlante can get promoted with a victory in the final. However, I'm no expert on promotion/relegation in Mexico. Maybe it will be a promotion battle. I'm not very sure.
The people of Juarez love football. Wherever they go there are sure to be people following them.

That right there shows how much people in Mexico love football. I don't know many other places in the world where 3rd division teams play in front of sold out stadiums like that.
It's two legs for the final. The winner of this apertura will face the winner of the next tournament in a two leg "promotion" series to declare who goes up

The goal for Atlante was a brilliant stroke of luck. It was a free kick that grazed the head of a player in the wall and snuck in past the post. There wasn't much action the rest of the game.

We'll see next season if they win again they get promoted without having to play a playoff for promotion

I don't know if they'll be able to maintain this form next season. It would be a nice surprise if they managed to pull it off.
I'd love to be able to watch the likes of Chivas, Leon, Tigres, América, and Pumas play in Juarez. It would be awesome!
Especially considering I haven't been able to go to as many América games at the Azteca as I used to when I was younger with my grandparents and siblings.
