Alright so Gold Cup rosters are being announced and I figured this could be an important topic going into the next month. We will lose Mix. However when we will also be getting Lampard, Andoni Iraola, Angelino, Pirlo (Maybe.. probably). So I think we should be ok.

We play Toronto on July 12th (their roster gets destroyed).
Canada just announced their roster they include
(GK Quillan Roberts, Def Ashtone Morgan, Mid Jonathan Osorio)
The US team will certainly include Jozy and Bradley. This will be announced later today.

Montreal we play on July 4th (Canada camp opens June 28th) Mid Maxim Tissot is the only one on their roster.

Then we play NE and they don't have any Canadian National Team members and possibly might only be losing Agudelo but even that isn't a guarantee.

Any other roster updates please list below.

We play orlando on the 26th, and that is the day of the final and a day after the third place game, so there is a high likelihood that we will be without Mix and they will be without drek shea for that game as well.

So Agudelo and Lee Nguyen were both added to the US provisional 35. So there is still a shot for both of them.

I did a search on the following rosters http://www.concacaf.com/article/concacaf-gold-cup-2015-provisional-35-player-rosters-announced

Searched for "Montreal", "New England", "Toronto", and "Orlando"

Orlando also has on the provisional rosters: Cyle Larin (Canada), Darwin Ceren (El Salvador), and Bryan Rochez (Honduras).

Everyone else mentioned above are there as well.

Do we have any idea when US camp begins? The Derby may be Mix's last game, although we managed without him last international duty stretch.

Also, not Gold Cup related, but NE will also have Jermaine Jones out for that match.

I saw the article below on ESPN the other day. My assumption all along has been that Mix is a lock for the gold cup roster but the article makes it sound like that's not the case. Do people that follow the USMNT more closely believe this? Is there a chance Mix won't be selected and he will stay with NYCFC or is this just typical ESPN non-sense?

All MLS writers have turned on Mix since he told Columbus to enjoy their shitty Midwestern existence, but he wouldn't be a part of it.

They've turned their hate towards him claiming everything from rich brat to narcissistic dick head (not much difference, honestly). They just want to hate.

I love NYC FC. But I'd go without any player, or any length of time, to better the USMNT.

I'm pissed off that Stoke asked Geoff Cameron not to participate in the Gold Cup.
I think that might have been a little of Cameron too. I think he was tired and wants to play regularly for Stoke this year. I also heard he and Klingsman don't get along. I agree I like that Mix is a regular on the national team. It sucks losing him but I love the USMNT and when they win it's awesome.

Here is how things are shaping up so far, but remember that there can be roster changes before the knockout rounds, which start Saturday, July 18. That might affect the availability of guys like Shea, Agudelo, Nguyen, etc.

I haven't checked final rosters except for our own.

July 4
NYCFC - Mix (USA)
Montreal - Tissot (CAN)

July 12
NYCFC - Mix (USA)
Toronto - Bradley (USA), Altidore (USA), Roberts (CAN), Morgan (CAN), Osorio (CAN)

July 18 (subject to change)
NYCFC - Mix (USA)
New England -

July 26 (subject to change)
NYCFC - Mix (USA)
Orlando - Larin (Canada), Ceren (El Salvador), Rochez (Honduras)

You're probably right. And I know Cameron has a decent amount of international caps under his belt but it must sucking missing out on the Gold Cup. Especially when the US could be considered the favorite.

I believe there to be a direct correlation between the success of the MNT and the long term success of the MLS.

The National Team is what got me into soccer. Becoming a fan of the MLS is an extension of that.

I really hope in a few years we'll be missing Khiry for a few games due to being called up.

I was wrong it was Stoke... fuckers

This may seem out there but go with me. We want our players to play for USMNT because we want them to win because we just want that. But I think there is also a long term generational play here. Players like Villa and now Lampard, Pirlo, Iraola et al, they don't just play here. They have kids here (or bring them here). Those kids grow up for at least a time in the U.S. And build US interests and fandom. Them's is some damn fine soccer genes to add to our American pool. The more they see USMNT win the more they might want to lace up for the red white and blue when they come of age.

So hell yes. Mix, go play for your country. Win one for us today and for our future.

Blue ladies, get out there and get impregnated by our foreign superstars!

That assumes that these foreign superstars come over at a young age without much knowledge or fandom on their home nation. This also assumes that these foreign superstars retire and live in the US following their MLS play rather than going back to their home country. This also assumes that their parents won't encourage them to root for their own country where their father (or mother) was a footballing legend. There are a lot of assumptions with this point. And also, name me some sons or daughters of legends that are amazing today...Will Donovan Jr. be as good as his pops?
