I think it is tougher to get a chant behind music that's unfamiliar to people. That's why nursery rhymes are easier (but annoying). I think you've swung the pendulum too far in the other direction now. I doubt many people know this song. (Or maybe I'm just out of touch.) Try to find something that is a fairly well known and liked song as a starting point and I think you'll be better off.
