Has anyone ever sat at the Hyundai Club for an NYCFC match? Looking to upgrade my seat. I’ve been there for a Mets game, but not sure if I’ll receive the same amenities for soccer. Mainly focused on the free food haha

I'm going to take POed Subway Rider's tweet with a gigantic grain of salt until someone reputable says it, and I suggest everyone else do the same.

I don’t know man. When it comes to games being moved and negative news like this it tends to be true. But I will say, less than two weeks away how can citi just flip the switch so fast.

It doesn't really seem logical, does it? That's why I don't give it much credence. Why would POedSubwayRider have a source that no one else has? Why would tickets still be for sale if the team knew the game wouldn't be happening as scheduled? Why would there be no indication of this except for a random, anonymous Twitter account? Because the guy says he has a trusted source but is otherwise untrustworthy?

i just was talking to my dad who’s enjoying his retirement life as a Citifield usher. He said that they took this game off the Usher schedule and that it’s cancelled for them. Looks like the game is being moved.

I don’t like that we’re a week away and that this is my source rather than the team.

If this game is moving (and the usher schedule info from RunningWise seems solid enough) and they haven't said anything a week out they must be scrambling to find an alternative solution. They're not keeping us in the dark for giggles. The Yankees are home that weekend. Gotham FC is at SIS on Saturday the 9th and Red Bulls at home Sunday the 10th. Anything else in or close to the City won't accommodate all the sold tickets. Hartford is a terrible option but I'm not sure what else they can do. Maybe squeeze in another midweek game somewhere?

It's also hard to figure what would require that this game be moved. I think Gotham Gator is correct about the lack of Mets rainouts. The Mets are in Milwaukee that entire weekend and back at Citi the following Tuesday. Monday is open, and if they needed to use the stadium for something on Monday that would break the 72 hour rule, but again there seems to be no need and the Mets likely would have announced something by now.

It's a puzzler.

The only thing that makes sense would be an issue with the field condition.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they are trying to push the game to October midweek when maybe one of the two stadiums is available. At least this shit will be ending soon.

Or maybe they’re hoping that either we or Columbus make the next round of the Leagues Cup.
Couldn't be the reason, the next round (Quarterfinals) are scheduled for August 19 & 20

Additionally, the game is still live on Ticketmaster and tickets can be bought on the primary market and resale there. It would be telling if they took the game down from the website.

Ah… didn’t know there was that much time between rounds. Which tells you how much I care about it.

I’m at the Met game today. Got talking to an employee by the Stengel gate about this Saturday's game. He said “eh they’re talking about it. It’s iffy”.

It has to be because of the grass. It’s horrible. But this person is also excited about the stadium and has their deposit for Ethiad Park.
