Reassuring that it doesn’t appear he’s terrified of the gym.

he's supposed to be a d-mid. let's hope he isn't. ring is an enforcer. sands isn't afraid of anything broken bones be damned, and herrera used to crunch into people as well. so, physicality should be part of his game if he's gonna make it in this league as a d-mid.

from what i've read/heard, he seems to be clean on the ball and a good distributor. so thinking he's much like a herrera and if so, that'd be great for us, since he's not a loan. hope he pans out. still young and can definitely grow with our club. gonna be some hot competition for playing time in the midfield this season..

He seems to play with the toughness that SA defensive players need to have to make it. Up until about a month ago, America fans thought he was signing there so we clearly signed a hot prospect. Hopefully unlike Bravo and Ring, he isn't a card machine. He seems to have good technique and can pick a pass out. Very excited to see how he settles here and develops.

Looks like a mix between Yangel Herrera and Alex Ring. Should hopefully fit in well.

I'd still rate Yangel Herrera as one of NYCFC's most important players on the field during this time here. Maybe top 3.

I think the biggest difference is both Yangel and Ring are physical players. Nico does not seem to be a physical presence on the field. He's going to have to learn how to get physical in this league though.

Geez. 54 matches in a season. Shocking to see an ACL issue.

Best of luck to him.

Transfer completed. Good luck Nick!

From the reports, it sounded like Acevado had become a key player for them before the injury. Hopefully, his recovery goes well and he can get back to that. His growth with NYCFC was impressive; he went from nearly unplayed in his first year to a solid starting-level player in his last season with us.
