For me, two were rather obvious - Pirlo's long ball that Villa chipped against Orlando, and Allen's long ball to Villa against Portland.

I had a really hard time with my third pick. I came really close to choosing Mix's long pass to Shelton against Chicago. But in the end, I couldn't refuse Harrison's cross to Shelton against Dallas. There were a few other close ones for me as well.

This is exactly where I was with the two shoe-ins. Made me realize we had a lot of great assists this year. For #3, I was back and forth between the following:
  • Iraola to Villa against Columbus
  • Pirlo to Villa against Vancouver (put it exactly where Villa went)
  • Harrison to Villa against Philly
  • Pirlo to Villa against Columbus
  • Harrison to Shelton against Dallas

Those really all were excellent. Not sure I could distinguish much between them except that Iraola to Villa and Harrison to Shelton are similar structurally except that Harrison was more on the move than Iraola and Shelton more on the move than Villa. So I'd put the Harrison/Shelton assist above the Iraola/Villa assist. Among the other three, perhaps it is just that Pirlo makes it look so easy that I take him for granted, but there was something very special about the Harrison all out sprint back heel.

How much does context matter in your rankings? For example, does the Harrison to Shelton goal get extra points because it was a late, game tying goal?

What do you think of the Mix long ball to Shelton, which was technically difficult since he was running to control a ball near the touchline? How about the Harrison to Shelton assist at the end of the Columbus game?
