Hi all,

First I'd like to apologize for not getting you all a film breakdown last week. I actually got quite a few tweets and emails asking what happened. Not to share too much info but a family member passed away and pushed things back, as you could expect.

Now that I'm back at full strength, boy what a win!!!!

I would love to take any questions, comments or jokes for the podcast coming up. Let me know what your thoughts are about the Montreal match or the upcoming Cosmos & Toronto game. Will tag you once it's up and live. If you'd like you can also ask me via Twitter (check signature) or email at info@nycfcpodcast.com

Thanks for understanding!

Sorry for your loss Andres. We miss the breakdown but totally understand.

Hi mgarbowski & Gene , your two questions/concerns were addressed on the latest podcast episode (link in signature). I would fast forward to the final 15 minutes if you don't want to hear all the mumbo-jumbo before that. Thanks for participating! If anyone else has any questions, comments or jokes they want answered or mentioned on the next episode please don't be shy.

With Iraola and Angelino in the lineup would it make more sense to sign a big forward that get get his head on the ball or go for Pirlo, if possible?
If these two can get up and put crosses in the box I would think we'd want someone who can get on the other end of them.

I really like this question. Related:

How should our young players be considered in the DP chase? DP forward takes playing time from Mullins, possibly Shelton/Poku. DP DM takes time from AJ. Do these players matter? Do you simply get the most talented DP you can find? Do you seek to fill your weakest position? Essentially, what is the calculus for deciding what to pursue in a DP?

Thanks. Very much enjoyed listening to the podcast. I have 2 comments

1. Regarding your breakdown of Pirlo and Angelino:

You and Matt both seemed to agree that an 18 month signing of Pirlo doesn't make sense because it is too short term. But you both seem to love the signing of Angelino who MCFC is likely to take back in 12-24 months.

So I'd break down the two signings like this:

Length of stay: toss up
Ability to learn system/gel immediately: Advantage veteran Pirlo
Ability to teach and improve other players for future: Huge advantage Pirlo
Likelihood of making other players and team better on the field: Advantage Pirlo

I don't understand how you can be down on Pirlo if you are up on Angelino.

That said, I'm excited about both of them.

2. Regarding my question about how do you decide on a DP target:

I'm also very happy with Pirlo as I'd much rather keep extra time available for Mullins, Shelton and Poku to get time up top than to stick them all on the bench because we brought in another offensive DP.

Thanks for considering my question(s) this week.

A month ago it seemed that the possibility of NYCFC ever winning again violated the very laws of physics. Now it seems that the possibility of us ever losing violates the very laws of physics.

So my question is: how do we keep NYCFC from destroying the universe and all life as we know it?

Wow FootyLovin great breakdown, seriously very impressed and you should come on the show! (I'm serious)

I'm usually wrong and thanks for breaking down the analysis.

I'd like to add (which I may have not clearly stated before) I will be happy having Pirlo. I've always been a fan of him. Also how many MLS teams can attract a player of his caliber? My main issue, other than how long it's dragging to make an official announcement, is his age, playing alongside with Lampard's age and the time they take from our younger players. Though as you clearly stated his presence alone will certainly help our younger players both on and off the field.

On the Angelino side, I imagine that Wingert, RJ Allen and perhaps Brovksy are not in our longer term plans. So having another youth raw talent in the back is a bit more exciting (for me) even if they remove playing time from our current full backs.

At the end of the day, I'm just thankful that there is soccer in NYC and that we are at the top of the summer transaction rumors. I'm also thankful for your great question. Fans like you make the podcast sooooo much better. Thanks.

Oh and mgarbowski - love your question, and will save it for a special show I'll be doing tomorrow and hope to share before Sunday's match.

If anyone has any questions they would like a response from please let me know! Oh and #WinNYCFC hahahaha

See Andres Emilio Soto - told you I'd give you a ratings bump.

Well you certainly did and would love to have you back on soon. How's next week? It would be awesome to get a live recording from you after you throw back a few drinks. I'm sure everyone will enjoy that episode. Hahahaha

I've been pondering about this for the last couple of days. How many kittens have died since the TR adopted Hey Baby as the go to song?
Thanks for the question BxLio91

I'll have to do some homework on this!

And danger thanks for the compliment! It really means a lot and I'm glad you are enjoying the podcast.
