He is a defensive mid - which is an area of need for our club.
They've been very honest about what was wrong last year and filling those spots. Let's see how it translates on the field.
Any news on what we are paying him? According to this article he would have made $100K had SKC retained him. Hopefully we got him for less than that. Also apparently was a former GA player:

I don't pretend to understand MLS salary structure but it said his base salary was just $100k last year. Is there a chance that is all we pay or can we renegotiate his contract?
sort of disconcerting that a good organization decided that once he was going to count against their cap (generation adidas player), he wasn't worth keeping around.

Love these kind of signings. We needed depth at DM and we got a kid who has potential, as exhibited by his time with the national team. Another project for PV and the team got younger. Keep it up, FO.
Holy crap, not one, but two mentions by Brian Lewis? To what do we owe this honor??? Do I dare go to sports section of the NY Post to see if he mentioned us there?

I'll take this type of signing over anybody we get from EDS everyday of the week.
This is the only kind of move that makes sense for us now. We are out of Intl spots, and need talented young players. SKC didn't want to keep hiding him away, so he works for us as a defensive sub for Pirlo. Since we will never know the terms of the deal, we can;t judge its financial merit, but looks like a good player to pick up.
we'll know the salary when the players association releases salaries in the summer.
I so much prefer this approach of filling spots with kids with upside and allowing PV to work his magic, as compared to signing grizzled vets and journeymen.
Very smart signing. Not a physically imposing cdm, but a feisty energetic cdm kinda like Dax McCarthy. Love it.
