Orlando Stadium & Front Office Problems

It was reported yesterday that the stadium deal for Orlando is depending on state funding that they might not get (up for a vote today or tomorrow). Now this morning chief operating officer Brett Lashbrook has resigned. All of this narrative sounds awfully familiar and those parasites looooved being the first ones to jump on us. I don't mind the team actually genuinely like Kaka he actually seems like a good guy and good ambassador to the league. Their fans are bottom feeding creatures derived from the crust of a dried up vial cesspool of life.

I agree with everything except that their team is not bad. Collin is a straight up dirty player, and as they demonstrated they are floppers. Last place can't come soon enough for them.

I want every team in MLS to have success building out infrastructure. Orlando's attendance has been tremendous early on, with a low of 31,072 through 3 games. They have a legitimate chance of having the second highest attendance in the league this season, and should get their own stadium.

That said, Orlando sux.

In today's budgets, getting anything from the state is real hard (and frankly, it should be). This is a tough fight in Florida, and its really tough in placed like NYC and DC. NYCFC not having a stadium isn't a sign that there's no support, and hopefully Orlando fans will hesitate to throw that lob (but of course they won't).

is this really a big deal? they have the ctirus bowl and i think no ones uses that outside of the end of season college football bowl games

Didn't the state already grant them this funding? If so, are they now attempting to take it away, or was it just never finalized yet?
I would imagine an easy legal case for Orlando if they were already approved for funding.

They are regularly pulling in 30,000+ per game and were going to build a 20,000 seat stadium. So, if this forces them to rethink, that might be a good outcome. The Citrus Bowl is a solid venue for them until things get sorted out. It's not as good a location as the planned stadium, but better to get the new venue done correctly.

That said, I had thought the stadium deal was a lock, and that's how it was presented to MLS and the fans. If this is not true - well, we have LampardGate, but their issue may be worse.

yeah, i don't think it's a big deal.

even in a worst case scenario and the deal falls through, I doubt the Citrus Bowl will mind the extra rent check for another few seasons from Orlando City SC.

1. The stadium money is for phase 2. Regardless the stadium is still being built.
2. Lashbrook was already on his way out the door. Everyone knew this already and wasnt really that much of a surprise

You guys know Orlando fans are reading this right? I'm pretty sure they stalk these forums along with red bull fans
the better question is who DOESN'T read these forums. considering that the rest of the league dislikes us and always want some ammo.

It was a surprise to me, I didn't know. What's your secret everyone source?

Impressed that Orlando City took over the stadium project today. Also upgrading it to 25k+ seating.

And for those that want to compare, I bet land in downtown Orlando cost 1/50 what it is in NYC.

More like 1/5000 the price of NYC real estate.
