Our Own Ticket Exchange

Has there been a discussion about selling tickets amongst ourselves and saving on charges? Not sure what that would entail but the thought of being able to help each other out with tickets sounds worth the conversation. Personally, I'd rather give other STH members a first look at my tickets before listing on a public platform (TM, StubHub), and save on fees both ways in the process. That money could go to buy another scarf. :-)

Thoughts?

Fantastic. What are the legal implications with displaying prices? Is there no way that we can consolidate this with a dashboard of sorts? I figure in our age of technology is should be fairly easy to put together. What am I missing?

***DO NOT POST PRICES OR CONDUCT ANY TRANSACTIONS IN THIS THREAD***

This is from the original thread quoted above..... I doubt what the OP has in mind will be allowed. As suggested, just use the thread linked...

I understand the posted rules. Am trying to learn why they are rules in the first place with the idea of improving the process.

My apologies if I said something offensive. I truly am trying to understand the situation. I honestly believe we can build something better as a community. I am a software developer and my thought process sees a megathread for tickets becoming difficult to find things as the season goes on. I was hoping to add value to the situation and make ticket exchange amongst the community a smoother process.

It's been discussed, anything more than the thread we have now opens the forums up to possible legal trouble. End of story.

It's illegal to act as a ticket exchange (facilitate reselling) in NY without agreeing to offer a refund.
I do not agree to offer a refund for any mishandled transaction thus this forum will not act as a ticket exchange. There is A LOT that goes into it with scammers and such. With all the available options there's no reason to put a burden on us over a couple of $$.
