In my 8 years of watching this sport, I truly can’t think of another time where I’ve seen any teams play a double header. Definitely think there are some baseball jokes coming our way

its common in preseason. at least i have seen a few here and there within MLS/USL.

isn't this supposed to be a preseason tournament though? there are so many other teams.. why do we have to play st louis twice? it's definitely weird in this scenario.

DC united plays charlotte and Vancouver same day as well. its a "tournament" but all it is just friendlies for teams to get minutes. i guess not much different from spring training in baseball with split squad game double headers.

same day is fine. same team is what is weird.

we're the only two teams who play each other twice, let alone the same day. seems it is because LAFC is only playing 2 games for some reason while everyone is playing 3 and st louis are playing 4.

probably no other team is around by then. based on schedule Charlotte and LAFC are not playing that day or that weekend. its preseason, its meh, dont care. cant even watch the games. just make sure they get minutes and cohesion.

yea i know it's preseason. but getting to play different teams is part of preseason. anyway - hopefully we have some new signings who will take part.

While I agree, it technically won’t be the same teams in each game. At least 22 different players for both teams

Actually it's been updated that we play St. Louis at 3:30 PM ET and then San Diego at 6 PM ET. Given the games are the same day, this will just be one thread.

Minority opinion but I really don't care, at least until MLS rosters are deep enough that a CCL run doesn't ruin the first few months of your season or more.
