Revisiting The Mix Diskerud Signing

If you could do it over again, would you have signed Brek Shea (who we passed on for Orlando) in lieu of signing Mix?

Hell No!! Mix wasn't that bad, Brek Shea was hurt all year and Mix in general has a higher upside. I hope he gets played in that 6 role.

Mix can play the 6 for NYCFC and USMNT if he gets the chance.

"Mix" sounds cool. "Brek" sounds like the sound my cat makes when there is a hairball in her throat.

Also, I know you said don't consider the future, but I am going to, I would say its better to have this year and last year with Mix out of position and have him in the future going forward, than to have Brek.

When Mix was signed I believe it was a long term deal he is here till he is 29.

That's silly. I think in a vacuum, Mix is the better player. By a wide margin.

But he can't play his natural role here. I think it would have been interesting to see Brek Shea flying down the wing instead of Ned Grabavoy last year.

After this season Mix will get more time in a position that fits him better. Giving up on him so soon is a lack of long term vision. How about we wait until we clear the old guys and the expansion draft deadweight, then we look at our young core to build around them?
