Star Wars Night ... Shameless Promotion I Can't Wait For!

So what are we ll doing? I'm planning on dressing up obviously! If black face was more acceptable i'd go as Lando, but I suppose Old-School Obi Wan will do just fine.

Can City Beats all be stormtroopers? That would look neat. What other surprises does YS have in store for us? a beat up jar jar fan area, free lightsaber. If this is half-assed I will be more disappointed then I am about our playoff chances.
 
I posted this in City Voice:

For Star Wars night versus Toronto on September 16th, I have a few suggestions for the club.

- First, NYCFC wears the secondary (black) jerseys
- Instead of the MLS anthem when the players walk out onto the field, "Imperial March"
- Strom Troopers present the tunnel of honor rather than the FDNY and NYPD

If we're the villains of the MLS (besides the Galaxy), we might as well act like it.
 
I want Pirlo to come out in an R2D2 costume, since they've served exactly the same purpose for their groups.

It's actually what the Yankees play when announcing the opposing starting lineup. Then they play the hero anthem for the Yankees.

Imperial March needs to be a theme of the club. We're the bastard child of the Evil Empire in baseball, everyone hates us and the Imperial March is the greatest theme music ever created. Go for it.
 
I'm betting it will be a "blackout" night -- black jerseys and everyone encouraged to wear Imperial black.

Thanks for having awareness there. I think you can pull off Lando without the blackface though, especially since his hair was treated with a perm/conk and relaxed.
 
The game was moved to ESPN2 rather than YES and will also be starting at 7:30 PM.

That new R2D2 looks like a soccer ball. This is the ultimate cross promotion.

MCFC now apparently plays baseball. (Or you are one of the few people that think the Yankees give a shit about this team)
