Toronto And Orlando Games Close To Selling Out

Both games are close to selling out the 100 and 200 levels.

For Sunday's game against Toronto, only 5-6 sections have significant tickets left, and those are limited to the top third of the rows. I would guess no more than 1,000 - probably fewer. I will be surprised if we don't sell out the first two levels, but there might not be enough demand to justify opening up the 300 seats.

There are even fewer tickets remaining for the Orlando game two weeks later. The only seats remaining (other than the Delta Sky Club) are in the sideline bleachers, Sections 203-205. And there are so few, they are easy to count. There are 181 seats left. I would expect to hear an announcement soon that the 300 level is open for this game. Certainly no later than Monday.

The Toronto match has me scratching my pointy little head a bit. It's been close to being a sell out for awhile now and quite frankly I can't understand why the upper deck wasn't opened already? I guess the people who are in charge of ticket sales must have some sort of formula in place to predict such things as how many walk up sales can be expected, etc.......

I would imagine after the smoke settles they're going to push the hell out of the Orlando match.

Yeah I can't imagine Orlando not being a sell out. That will be the most star studded match in MLS history. Orlando also seems to travel pretty well too.

Well, I just checked tickets again, and they've opened up a bunch more seats for each game. My guess is these were seats they were holding for group sales and potential season ticket sales. More are available for Toronto than Orlando. For Orlando, they've opened up nearly all of Section 208, which aren't bad seats.

Imagine if Lampard and Pirlo were on the team from the beginning. We would probably have the entire stadium open all the time.

Always keep in mind that as matches get closer, the club often puts up a bunch of seats for sale, so you can't just by looking at the map in advance. If you look at the season tickets map, you will see around 2k seats available for choosing. Also add in a bunch of seats reserved for group sales. Those seats are not available for single game sales until they get closer to the match. So when you look at the map and only see a few hundred seats, it is likely that they have 2-3k sitting tucked up their sleeves.

Yeah, I thought about that, but these games seem(ed) to have many fewer tickets available than others at that stage. Maybe they were holding a few more tickets back given the surge of season ticket sales with Pirlo (and others) coming on board.

I still think we get to a sellout on Sunday, and two weeks later. Whether the 3rd level opens up for Orlando probably depends upon how many tickets they are still holding back for that one.

I agree. I thought it odd at this late date (and all those tickets sold) they never released tickets for the upper deck. In all honesty I should have released this, because it's not the first time it happened.

That will be a can't-miss clash of titans: one established vs the new challenger
I hope we can become what they are or even better on the field. They are really the model club for this league and what we should aspire to be. They make great acquisitions of squad players and DPs, and they are bringing along a lot of good homegrown talent.

I have a lot of respect for their club.

Yes and no. Honestly they should handle us in that game. We will still be learning each other. They are at home and very experienced. High hopes but feeling a dose of reality.

All I was saying is that it'll be a must watch match -- they may handle us (I disagree -- won't argue the point now) but I think it'll be the most watched match of the regular season. I'm seriously considering getting myself out there for that match -- probably better to wait for the rematch in the MLS Cup Final. ;)

I do like the way you think.
