Southampton's academy is one of the few bright spots in English development. Gareth Bale, Oxlade Chamberlain, Lallana, Luke Shaw, Callum Chambers, Theo Walcott, just to name the most notable.

Ox has been phenomenal this year, Lallana has been a missing piece for Pool since he's been injured. Luke Shaw is probably the highest potential English player outside of Kane. Sure none are Bale level but that would mean top 10 players in the world.

If the US had comparable talents to each those players, we're looking at 2018 not 2022.
