post game press conf, jansen said he hasn't decided on whether he will rotate. but seems pretty clear he will need to rotate given that we have 9 games this month.

I think it's a great opportunity to give some of the youngins some minutes. Maxi obviously won't play. Give ojeda and bakrar a good run out there to find their legs and confidence.

Personally, I think we should rotate but we should also want to win. USOC has lost its importance over the years, but I think it's a solid trophy that should still mean something. I hope it can regain its importance in the future. Something akin to the FA cup in england.

i always want them to go for this tournament ( hell even over the leagues cup). The problem this year is that there is no true depth imo. so the chance will be taken with all the young players and NYCFC II players so im not expecting much a run.

The II's went on quite a run last year. Don't count 'em out!!

The lack of depth is really limiting our ability to make a serious push. We’re going to need heavy rotation, especially in the midfield. Parks and Perea are dealing with injuries, and both Maxi and Shore have already logged a lot of minutes. Hopefully, we’ll see some help from the IIs, at least in the early rounds.

Up front, I’d like to see players like Ojeda and Bakrar get more time—it could be a good opportunity to get them into rhythm. The biggest question mark for me is the CAM spot. They can’t keep piling minutes on Maxi, but it’s unclear what the alternatives are.

Lack of depth plus nine games in the month of May equals a headache for Jansen for sure. Especially with Keaton's ongoing foot issues and Maxi's age. He really has little choice but to look to the IIs. Will we see some minutes from Carrizo soon?

Unfortunately, Carrizo went down with a bad-looking non-contact injury playing with the IIs. I think it was posted in the NYCFC II thread. Have not seen an update but he may not be an option in the near term depending on the injury.

Edit: I can't seem to find LionNYC original post, but here is the tweet:

XI:
Bakrar
Ojeda - Wolf - Fernandez
Haak - ??
Cavallo - Risa - Tana - ??
Romero

Haak, Wolf, Cavallo subbed off at the half. Sub Fernandez at 60. Fuck. I have no idea.

Not sure why you don’t have Jonny inked in there. And I would bet Tayvon gets the start since he clearly needs minutes to get his groove back. He was OK defensively but positively wretched on the ball yesterday.

And is Romero really #2 and not Greg?

Well shit. I don’t usually watch the IIs but I did tune in briefly yesterday and saw that goal. In fact that’s what brought him to mind. It was nifty. I only watched a few minutes and didn’t see him go down. That sucks. Poor kid, hope he’s ok.

This is a prediction, and the guy at the 10 is the biggest question mark. If he can’t go, then add Wolf to the Starting XI and either he or Fernandez plays in the midfield.

i think perea will start to further improve his match fitness. but damn, our depth is hurting us bad. really should be giving shore a rest but now we are forced to make usual starters play at least 45 mins when they should be getting a break.

i know we're gonna rotate and all, but I am kind of excited for this game. maybe cause it's a cup tournament and it's a perfect situation for a roster like ours to get some silverware? either way, i'm ready for some USOC! glad they will be properly streamed games too.
