Just another discussion-maker on this so-far boring offseason, I'm curious to see the general feeling/idea right now around the forums.

If there's anything I missed that should be added, let me know and I'll add it to the poll.

Personally I selected DP Striker and Insane Promotion to Get Butts in Seats at YS because I personally think that, realistically, these are the two most important things for this offseason.

I couldn't choose DP Striker twice so I also chose the insane promotion. Promotion needs to be $ on marketing/advertising to supportthe brand rather than throwing free seats at people as a temporary fix.
 
Balanced my wishes/concerns with pragmatism. All else remaining equal, if you took the same club and separated it from CFG, I’d immediately garner significantly more incremental joy.

But since I think that’s completely unrealistic, I chose DP Striker and Stadium Announcement. And as I type this, I snicker at the huge problem with the logic of my choices...shit.

Stadium announcement seemed like a somewhat obvious choice for me, but I picked "entire FO overhaul" second, and that was more difficult. Could just have easily as selected "break from CFG" to cover the same sentiment.

I do think there are people in the FO who are passionate about our club, this city and our fans, but I can't help but feel that they are operating within an organizational culture that is out of touch with its customers right now. I don't want an overhaul in personnel, necessarily, but I do want an overhaul in how this club relates to its fans. Regardless of our concrete achievements or failures, I think better communication and the trust that would follow from that would go a long way.

ETA fuck it, stadium announcement will get enough votes so I just cast my vote for both the FO and CFG related options.

Seems like the 'nothing im fine' is not getting votes and i think i know why. Its a bad deal. When you choose nothing I'm fine you don't get to use your second vote. You can't say your fine and then with a second vote complain, its contradictory and negates your other choice. People who want to complain get two votes and those who are content get at best 1. You've inadvertently tipped the scales. You need to add another option:

✓ Nothing I'm fine
✓ 15 minutes could save you 15% on car insurance.

Add that and watch the positivity flow in unabated.

.....Or not, cause the club is a steaming turd lately. But it can't hurt to add it and be sure.

Striker and butts in seats for me. These are two things that can and should be addressed during the off-season. Finding the RIGHT striker for us for sure takes some thorough examination so I can understand there not being a splash signing just because we want to see one.

There are other things for sure but my timeline on them is different.

Voted Stadium Announcement, don't think I need to explain why.

Second vote was for non-DP striker as a "Current NYCFC Priority". I think we need a DP striker, but I think that needs to be a big name that comes in during the summer. That leaves us with a current hole at striker (especially if Berget does leave) which I think would be our biggest need at the moment.
 
I voted for better transparency and a DP striker.

The stadium is obviously important, but the biggest issue we have this winter is a lack of trust with the front office. Signing a big-name striker would allay some of the fears floating around, and increased transparency would lead to better trust with the FO. I think more would fall into place, including better attendance, if those two things happen.
 
I would like to hear of a bigger commitment to development locally. Something like launching or legitimately partnering closely with a USL side and breaking ground on academy and youth facilities in the region.
This type of financial investment would give me more confidence that CFG is still invested in this project, much more so than a big name do signing would.

Of course, why not have both? [Insert taco girl]

1. Stadium - Makes all other pieces more likely to happen.
2. Break from CFG - Eliminates most significant negative to rooting for this team. Of course, this heavily depends on who buys it. Anyone know a kindhearted billionaire with no baggage?

Summary on the day of our opener:
Majority wanted a stadium announcement, majority wanted a DP or big name striker.
We didn't get either, but we got Mitrita which I think some people might consider good enough for the "dp striker" category, but I don't.
