Venezuela looks great and is eviscerating Germany this morning.

I'm watching on DVR with no knowledge of final score, but 2-0 at 65'.

Based on what I have seen previously at this level, they look likely to have a deep, deep run.

also these performances should make him XI no question on any night. also he seems to be the only one to actually be dangerous in corners....something we severely lack

A team has three DP spots. Young or regular, they're all the same. So no, we can't have 1 Young DP and 3 regular DPs.

ah ok i remember seeing the term "young DP spot" thrown around so i thought it meant something. then in that case leave it as is...as i doubt he will be playing in Man city for a couple of years with the whole visa thing. unless they want to move him next year to another team instead on loan.

It does mean something concrete, just not an extra DP slot. A regular DP, 24 and older, counts $480,625 against your budget cap. A Young DP 23 and younger only counts $200k, freeing up $280k for other players. A DP 20 or younger costs only $150k against the cap.

Young DPs count less against the salary cap than regular DPs, even on the same salary. Regular DPs count the max salary charge of $480,625. Young DPs count either $150,000 (if 20 or younger) or $200,000 (if 20-23). Atlanta has been benefitting from this by having two Young DPs on roster.

Why sell him for $10M now when he could be worth a lot more later after playing for his senior team against South American competition? It's not like MCFC needs $10M to balance their books - but that investment (i.e Hererra), if it can help lead NYCFC to a championship, would be worth much much more towards the total CFG bottom line by making NYCFC that much more marketable/valuable.

He would. It is English work permit rules that would not allow him.

Also, and this is a sad thought, if Man City ever thinks Yangel's "almost there" in terms of being ready to play for them, they would probably want him playing in a higher quality league than MLS. So at that point they would try to loan him out to a side in Portugal, or small La Liga side, etc. Then again, this is all just speculation.

I think it would help the work permit issue if he were loaned to a team in one of the Big Four leagues.
