Adidas removing the sleeve trim and button collar from the replicas. Not good. Not good at all.

At least that makes me feel a little better that they didn't go with the button collar for us (mostly because I actually wanted this collar style - but am too cheap to splurge on authentics).
In fairness, having an "authentic" and a "replica" always was going to go in the direction of increased numbers of differences between the two versions. They actively want people to feel disappointed by the replica so that they feel like they have to buy the authentic. Or to be more accurate, what they truly want people to do is buy the replica, then feel undersold and buy the authentic too. Let's not pretend like the shirt companies give two hoots about the people who buy their stuff. We're just walking, talking wallets to them at the end of the day.
Wow that's terrible, makes the replica look like a t-shirt jersey. It would be interesting to know the typical sales number split between replica and authentic. Making the replica so obviously different seems like Adidas believes people who typically buy replicas but are unhappy with the differences will pay the money for the Authentic. It seems just as likely that those replica buyers just wont buy anything.
not a fan of the button on a round collar either but concerned that if we have sleeve trim on OUR authentic it will get chopped off the replica
I guess the Adidas Intern didn't understand the definition of Replica.

So the leaked jersey is the "City" blue and a navy blue, Vieira's Polo had the same colors.
Pretty sure NYCFC is going back to the colors they originally had planned way back in 2013 for the team. The orange was definitely a late addition to the color scheme after the outcry from fans if you guys remember. So they threw that little orange patch on the chest of the original alternate kit.
I hope they don't shy away from the orange and blue since the colors work so well together but I think we'll see more sky blue and navy blue combinations in the future.

I agree. Orange as an accent is pretty necessary, I think. I wouldn't want orange jerseys like Houston, but orange at the collar or on the sleeve, for example, really makes a jersey pop.
I'd take an orange secondary down the road. Maybe with some swirling blue lines on the front. Those swirls are cool!!!
