DC Postmatch

Wow those were a pair of ugly goals to give up.
Who made the back pass on the first? I'm not excusing Brillant, but the pass back perfectly split Brillant and Chanot and shares the blame. I can't see who it is. My best guess is Matarrita.
I think it was Pirlo (although may have been Mata) but I'm a bit fuzzy right now.

Can anybody explain why Wallace was in the middle so much like LA's Zardes? He got in good positions but he doesn't seem comfortable receiving the ball as a CF. plays much more fluid as a pure winger.

Any chance Pirlo hangs it up over the summer and we go grab an Iniesta type (or actually Iniesta)?

I can't imagine a guy with his career and his fortune wants to go out like this.

At one point he was also playing deeper then Mata.
I like Mata when he isn't trying to make the next installment for his highlight reel, but I am very hopeful that Mata will be gone this summer and a rugged & intelligent replacement will be brought in. Somebody that wants to play for NYCFC & doesn't have a foot out the door.

Liked what I saw from Camargo, (other then that terrible shot) so hopefully he will be a favored option off the bench, and he can move Shelton further down the depth chart

For all this talk about how strong offensively this team is...they suck at shooting. Maybe Hamid's positioning was very good, but it seemed we either shot it into the second deck, or right at Hamid

Rumor is that Conte wants him as assistant coach at Chelsea. If true, I think he's going to take it as an "out" instead of having to retire. Saves face for him to take a Plum position rather than make PV have to bench him (not that he will). If he does that, we can bring in an impact DP. Let Herrera play Pirlo's spot and grab a DP forward.

As I mentioned above, I think/hope Mata is gone this summer since that would allow him to have a preseason with his new club. We take the GAM from his transfer and get a TAM level player to round out the starters. Either as a direct replacement for Mata, or Wallace slides back and we grab a different position. That's then two new players we can add with very little effort from our Cap savings account.

For $6 million a year, there are probably 50 players we could sign that can be Pirlo offensively, but also play on the defensive side of the ball.

It's great that he can pick out a pass, but so can Ring and Maxi for a fraction of Pirlo.

Worse signing than Lampard?
Christ All Mighty Kjbert and ktdNYCFC REALLY ??!! Why don't you both and all the other haters just get one of those long range rifles and do the man in ? And it's the general consensuses of this forum that I Pose The Threat to him ? This Jury Better review these documented testimonials !

And for the last time His take home pay is 2.5 Million per year ! That's what all the papers, TV,and magazines and on line story's quoted when he came over as to what he would be paid ! I'm sure that half of his pay goes to rent for that Manhattan town house . That I still have No Idea where it exactly is ? Thank you very much !

But why do I have this awful feeling that some of you know where it is ? When you plan to go and confront him and say how much He Sucks ! His passes and corners and free kicks are lame ! And he's the worst singing ever ! Oh and my Favorite Today He Doesn't Do Anything World Class Anymore !!

I'm not his Threat !! But the people who he Gave Up Everything for to come play for are ! TRUTH !

I think Sean Johnson could do more to stop blocking shots and sending them directly into the box. This has happened before and luckily our player to go them first to clear it. Push it out of bounds or catch it.
Hold up, man. Sean was great today, in part because he does exactly that.

It's not his fault when Fred the donkey bastard and Fat Tommy do jack shit to play defense in the box.

To be honest, he didn't give up shit. He wanted to live in NYC, and the club pays him for it.

Seriously, there's no way your pain meds are good enough that you honestly believe you can martyr Pirlo.

I think mata is one of the better players. He always puts in a consistent cross. And usually interplays well with Wallace. Going away from the 433 to this slop left him alone on the outside.
He's one of the better players. He's not consistently one of our more important players, other than we don't have a competent backup at this point unless we move Wallace back to defense. What I mean to say is, he is one of our easier sells.

I think come summer he'll be gone and we'll be a better team based on other signings.

If things go as I think they will, I won't mourn him. Wish him the best. Hope the new guy looks like he gives a damn more than occasionally.

Alright. Fine. I'll make it 4 in a row.(eta: or not. Thanks to NYCFC_Dan NYCFC_Dan)

Here's my take on where it all went wrong: With whatever setup our midfield had, we lost a lot of the piston action we had going on that can drag central defenders and DMs out of position.

For the last few weeks, we've seen Maxi pick up the ball just on the attacking side of the midfield stripe or even before. From there, He usually has 4 forward options to play to and they all have dynamic run options.

With the set-up today, he never got the ball with any sort of space.

That's the beauty of having teams crash Pirlo and Maxi drop back. He then has ages to drive at the back line and/or pick out a pass with minimal pressure.

Tonight, Ring was tasked with too many specific instructions or not enough. (Ridiculous to say that, but I honestly can't tell.) all I know is he did not seem to be making the same runs as normal and yet he wasn't particularly contributing anything standing sort of around Pirlo and watching the attack. His talents don't allow him to contribute very much in the role he was given.

Maxi dropping in and Ring pushing past him was apparently a far bigger part of our attacking success than I figured before. Once we saw how poor things were otherwise, we should have changed.

Also, Wallace never needs to be played in a LAM/LF position such as today. He's a wide guy, and it showed in how uncomfortable he was picking up the ball in those dangerous but strange to him places.

Harrison sent in a lot of crosses. That's all I'll say about him, so read into that what you want. Wish we would have subbed him out instead of Wallace.

Would like to see Camargo get more time at some point. Khiry is pointless to bring on if he isn't even going to kick it and try run past someone. He has no finesse or technicality. Why does he pretend? The whole league knows he's shit at this point.

Ugggghhhhhhh

This isn't the first time PV has tried to go three in the back, but I hope it's the last time. We've always looked terrible with three in the back.

Also, this team is so much worse with Brillant on the field. He should be behind Ethan on the CB chart, and if we need him at all the rest of the season we're in big trouble. That was an awful, awful performance from him. Just way too many mistakes.

I also feel like Harrison isn't going at guys one-on-one the way he was last year. I could be wrong about that, but he's so good running at players I'd like him to stop running to the endline and threading a cross. Take a guy on and go for goal.
