2018 SuperDraft - NYCFC Thread

Twumasi - Attacking Midfielder, Sophomore
Atuahene - Forward, Junior
Toye - Forward, Freshman
Moutinho - Midfielder - Freshman
Adams - Midfielder - Sophomore (NYCFC links)
Wild - Forward - Junior

Could absolutely see Reyna move up for Adams.

Adams is noted as the 39th best college player (non-freshman list; Top Drawer Soccer postseason rankings). Arthur Bosua from Columbia is 20th.

If we're trading up, I think we'd be trading up for someone like Joao Moutinho who is 1st amongst freshmen.

Another interesting note is that Francis Atuahene is from New York City, he's 40th in the non-freshmen rankings.

Matt Doyle's Mock Draft 1.0: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/01/10/armchair-analyst-2018-mock-superdraft-v1-0

Doyle has us drafting the following at the 19th pick...

Wyatt Omsberg, CB - DARTMOUTH
A strong Combine could see him rocket up the draft boards, given his physical profile (6-foot-4 left-footed CB who can pass the ball) and the leaguewide need for center backs. Teams want to see if he can be a commanding, physical presence and bury his tendency to be a little too passive at times

Arthur Bosua is not listed going in the first round.

I’d sign up for a young, big bodied, American Center back in the draft. Especially if he can play the ball out of the back.

This offseason, 11 of the players drafted in the first round in 2017 did not have their options picked up. Every year, the draft becomes more inconsequential.

I go under .5

Aren’t all draft picks signed to 3-4 year deals, and if so why would a 2017 player even need an option picked up since they would have only completed 25-33% of their contract? Or did you mean players from the 2015 draft?

That what's I thought

Since the beginning the club reps have distanced themselves from us and wanted us to grow independently and ‘organically.’
While I did receive media emails last year (match preview, announcements, etc) we never got credentials for interviews.

I’d definitely be down to do the Q&A again
Unrelated to why I quoted you specifically but saves time to address it as this is what I initially wanted to say:

How would we get a press pass? I was gonna ask if we are even sanctioned by the team but I suppose this explains our relationship with the club. Frankly, I am surprised they allowed the page to be called nycfc forums; like I know big corporate are really anal about using phrases and whatnot even remotely close to their brand because if they don't sue everyone then they can lose their trademarks & copyrights. Kind of how facebook sues anyone and anything with face or book in the company name even if they aren't remotely related to social networking just to show a pattern of defense. So I suppose its nice to see that they are aware of the page and allow it to grow. But just in case they flip their stance save the correspondence where they acknowledged the websites existence and that they allowed it to stand.

As an aside to this thought, check out this sweet gem on protecting trademarks:

And without further ado, the reason I wanted to quote you is because of the use of quotes around organically, reminded me of this blog http://www.unnecessaryquotes.com/ and more importantly this scene
that is all, carry on.

I think with all our signings so far it seems more and more likely that we go with the big or pacey center forward to cover for villa and will be ok with not being a starter.
