Chanot, Ring and Callens are just ridiculously good they cover so much for us. At this point I'm ready to start advocating that we save the next available DP slot for Ring just in case I never want that guy to leave.

Yes. Let’s throwaway the RSL game and we haven’t even really played that well yet, and we are undefeated. If/once we click, Villa is Villa, guys find their legs, Medina blossoms, and we avoid too many international break injuries, this team would be scary.
Almiron and Martinez play no defense whatsoever. They literally hang out at the halfway line and wait for a quick turnover and off to the races.
That said, Almiron has a ton of attacking quality. NYCFC didn’t help themselves by giving him 20 yards on the ball every time he had it in the open field. He caused both their goals.
Now you can see why Martinez hasn’t scored more than 8 goals in a season anywhere else than Atlanta. His poaching skills would make Chicharito proud.

I would say I agree, but I watched two seasons worth of embarrassing performances by Josh Saunders. But, yes, he hopefully just lost his starting job
What impressed me the most of this game was the Amazing Atmosphere in the stadium !!!! Wow. When I turned the TV on, I initially thought an European game was still on. I did a double look again and it was our Celeste game on.
Once again I will complain about how sedate (putting it nicely) as I compare how dead we are in YS.

Not to pick nits, but you won’t see many atmospheres like that in any “European game”.
Outside of a few places and derbies, ATL just does it up right. Good balance of modernity (contrived) and genuine enthusiasm.
They are just a really good organization. Pieces of shit.
I think that's exactly what happens on this team. Players have to earn their spots . Mata had a terrible preseason and that's why he lost the spot. And look what happened, he came back fired up. And this isn't just one game for Sweat, he also had a bad game vs San Jose
Back to my point, you wanna bench Medina too - that was not a DP performance at all. By your metric he should be filling out a lease to be Lewis’ neighbor.

Well, it ain’t like Sweat is making hustle mistakes. Half the time, his mistakes are due to his CBA attitude. I didn’t make that nickname up all willynilly.
Medina had an outlier. Sweat has done this the past 3 games.
Regardless of whatever continent , my point is that I admire and admit I feel a bit envious that we are unable to do that.
Berget is looking comfortable with the team now and that is a very good thing.
If Tajouri is out for any length of time, I think I'd be OK with a Berget-Villa-Medina front line. Certainly would rather Berget to Wallace, who has absolutely no confidence at this point and hasn't scored a goal in 11 months.
Both WhoScored and Audi Index rate Sweat as the 4th best player for NYCFC in this game.
