Proper Championship stats. Straight red, 8 yellows, and only goal a PK.

One issue is that they haven't added ESPN+ to the channels that they crawl for match listingsMade the switch to Fotmob a few weeks ago, haven't looked back.
I've been pretty impressed with how aggressively ESPN has gone after the soccer market. Serie A, Eredivisie, the Championship, the FA Cup and "Carabao" Cup, the UEFA Nations League, the A League, MLS and USL... They even show Chinese Super League games, if anyone has any interest in that. They really need to make a deal for La Liga since BeIN seems to have dropped it and/or US cable providers are dropping BeIN.ESPN+
Yep :/Leeds have fallen off a bit, huh? Last I looked they seemed a lock for automatic promotion. Paging Christopher Jee
The length of the Championship season is just so long compared to the premiership’s. Bet his team would cover that ok, but these extra matches are the delta that’s broken down the players.Yep :/
Could be fatigue, we've definitely had horrible injuries. Both theoretically blameable on Bielsa's methods. Playoffs should be epic but we are definitely limping towards the finishing line. Either way it's been an incredible journey and the closest we've been to this kind of feeling since I was a kid!
Villa also had a player sent off after one of the Leeds players faked a blow to the face. The really weird thing about this is how angry the AV people are after Leeds gives them the free goal.
Taking injuries into consideration, I don't know that he could have done much more rotation. He was already scraping the barrel with some of his call ups from the youth teams. We're not particularly wealthy or deep and were already leaning pretty heavily on loans. Only Harrison got a lot of minutes out of the loanees. The length of the Championship season is just so long compared to the premiership’s. Was his bench deep enough to have rotation, or has he essentially used the same 11-14 players?

Also it's John Terry.
Sorry, the blow to the face was faked by a Leeds player, after the goal was scored.
I have to say Leeds were perfectly entitled to keep playing. The issue is that the Leeds player who sent the deep pass paused before doing so, which arguably made the AV players relax. But (1) he didn't affirmatively indicate he was playing it out he just paused and (2) the AV players all stopped playing first and pointed and told him to kick it out. To me it's understandable he paused. It's confusing to see 4-5 people pointing out but none of them are either his coach, teammates or, more importantly, an official.
I also get there was stuff going on before this play. You indicate AV faked a blow-to-face injury and AV partisans claim they had just previously stopped play for a downed Leeds player. Assuming both are true I see it as a tough situation and probably Leeds should have stopped but I don't think it was required, and the AV reaction was ridiculous.
Also I guess my bottom line is I will always admire teams when they play it out for an injured opponent when the whistle doesn't blow, but I don't disparage teams who play until the whistle blows either.
Got it. I did misread you. So it's more understandable that AV was outraged, but my bottom line stands.Sorry, the blow to the face was faked by a Leeds player, after the goal was scored.
This is part of what makes the Championship fascinating to me. This sense of moral outrage can only exist in a league which has a dominant culture, which is something that is increasingly difficult to say of the EPL.
It's nostalgic for someone who remembers the 90s top flight, but it's also a league that reeks of British identity in a world that is grappling, socially, with the ramifications of this particular mode of globalization. I have similar feels about UEFA Nations League.
Ahhh this is why Reddit and Twitter are in some ways superior. Auto-threading.Got it. I did misread you. So it's more understandable that AV was outraged, but my bottom line stands.
I take your point about league culture and globalization, which parallels similar issues in the wider world, where I don't think we're handling the issue particularly well. Since that gets both somewhat OT and contentious, I'll stop there, but I also think that this particular flashpoint of how to handle unofficial injury stoppages, is less than universally agreed-upon even within cohesive cultures.
