Welcome to the 2019/2020 Bundesliga season! For the first time since 11-12, a third team has made it up! Congratulations to Union Berlin, 1. FC Köln, and SC Paderborn on being promoted!
Teams Competing in 2019/2020: (promoted | Defending Champion)
FC Augsburg
Hertha BSC
Union Berlin
Werder Bremen
Borussia Dortmund
Fortuna Düsseldorf
Eintracht Frankfurt
SC Freiburg
1899 Hoffenheim
1. FC Köln
RB Leipzig
Bayer Leverkusen
Mainz 05
Borussia Mönchengladbach
Bayern Munich
SC Paderborn
Schalke 04
VfL Wolfsburg
After a close title race last season, defending champions Bayern Munich have lost three talented players, but have made up for it with a few great young signings in Pavard, Goretzka and co. At the same time, Dortmund has bought some of the best talent in Germany, the likes of Brandt, Hazard, and Schultz.
On the other side of the coin, Cologne is looking to stay up this time after getting relegated with their lowest points tally to date. (Beaten last year, however, by both Nurnberg and Hannover.)
SC Paderborn embrace their second stint in the top flight, after having dropped back down directly in the 14-15 season.
Union Berlin will play their first ever top-flight season, and the question is whether they will pull a Darmstad and RB Leipzig, or if they'll drop right back next season.
...All in all, I'm really looking forward to this season! It should be a blast.
